There is a huge glitch in the No Man's Sky Desolation update. You can actually use the same emergency broadcast receiver over and over. This is how you can get unlimited derelict freighters, and that means unlimited upgrades! This is too awesome to pass up, but it is probably going to get fixed really quick.

Make sure you add it in refiner before you use it on sealed door. Freighter asks every time before you enter.

Found a even easier way. After you get the upgrade. Go out & get back in your ship, pulse drive away from freighter till out of sight then slow back down. Pull the receiver out of your personal refiner and put it back in your exo suit inventory. Pulse drive again & then slow back down. Boom reset. You activate again & put back in your personal refiner till you complete the next one👍✌️

I haven't tried this with the receiver yet, but I can tell you that at least in my personal experience, it won't unseal to door to another derelict until you sell the crew manifest and captain's log. Can anyone confirm this for me in their experience? This happened when I had 3 derelicts all right near each other and I tried to hop to the next one. However, these were not randomly spawned through pulsing, I just stumbled upon them, so they might have been spawned by other players and I happened upon them before they despawned.

Hey jason and everyone else still works but here is a tip to not deal with the logs. If you activate the EBR at the space station inside your starship before leaving and putting it inside the refiner like shown, you dont have to waste time getting the logs if you are only interested in the upgrades at the end. Once you leave and make your way back to the space station remove the EBR and put it in the exosuit before entering the space station and it should reset. DONT FORGET TO GET OFF YOUR STARSHIP BEFORE REACTIVATING THE EBR SO YOU AUTO SAVE. Makes it way faster to get the upgrades. Make sure to repeat the steps. If you forget to remove it before entering the space station, no big deal just remove it and leave the station and come back in should reset.

In the trailers I've seen "alien nests" and alien critters reminiscent of face huggers scurrying around... I've scavenged through at least 20 or more of these freighters and haven't seen anything other than the green flying jellyfish and some A.I. security countermeasures. If in a hurry, once finished with the freighter, just pulse for a few seconds until the freighter mission text changes (bottom right corner), and then your EBR is safe to pull out of the personal refiner and reuse.

It is december 15, 2020 and i can confirm this glitch still works. Remember that you can only take the broadcast receiver ONCE YOU HAVE ENTERED THE SPACE STATION AND EXITED YOUR SHIP. Anywhere else and it will not work. Have a sub my boi

Jason I think after complete a derelict, before you exit this ship, put the active beacon in inventory. After exit the ship it would still be activated, but once you re-enter the ship, the beacon back to inactivated. This way you don’t have to sacrifice a data log. For any derelict, you can just go straight to the final terminal. After that, find somewhere to land your ship to do the trick, could be your freight, could be a space station, could be a planet, just somewhere you can land on!!!

So I've encountered an issue with these frieghters today. The last 2 I've done, I am literally blocked from progressing to the 6th room due to some floating piece of debris that no matter what I did, it refused to move or budge. Had to bail twice halfway through and ended up wasting my receivers

Can confirm this still works post update 10/26/20. Sometimes the beacon won't go back to normal after being active but if you go to the galactic trade terminal like you're going to sell it (found this out because I was in fact going to sell it) it will go back to normal and ready to work again.

Just wanted to say thank you for the awesome vids. You have helped me out a ton. I noticed that even if I go the the scrap dealer I still get the +1 in standings. But it depends, like one time I’ll get nanites. Then the next I’ll get standing, and the third time I’ll get standing and nanites. It’s weird but so far it’s only with the scraper not the guild guy. I’m certain I know how this glitch works. If you didn’t know already, you **can’t** delete anything in personal refiners. Since you can’t delete anything in personal refiners, the broadcast receiver couldn’t be deleted, obviously.

When I go talk to Helios, all he says is that he's so tired. There are no dialog options to ask about freighters or anything else, just "Leave."

Are you offline? Because no other dialogue appears if you are, and it basically renders him useless until you go back on (check the quicksilver store if all the stuff isn’t there that’s how you know your not connected)

You need to buy the first freighter location from the scrap dealer on any space station and then helios will talk about them. :)

It may also be that you are on GoG having used the offline installers. If so, install GoG galaxy and run it once, then you can start NMS with the normal icon you DON'T have to start it through galaxy. It will auto connect you with multiplayer on and you can turn that off in options if you wish but it will fix Helios' stubbornness. That's what happened to me and nothing but what I just said fixed it. So I'm sharing it for anyone else.

Can confirm! Just make sure to keep it in the refiner while you are searching the freighter, and definitely take it out when you land on the space station and before you hang over the captain's log / crew manifest.

I also found a glitch yesterday where if you locate a derelict freighter and have a buddy open the airlock you keep your freighter scanner so you could just keep doing them as long as you don’t open the door.

Hey Jason, I think I may have found a glitch for the portal glyphs. You need to obviously find a traveller and pick up the glyph from the grave, then you ask a friend to join on you and warp to a random system that isn’t the one you are in. Once they have warped, you need to put a save beacon down, use it then quit to mode select and join back on your friend and you can grab the glyph again, you can do this over and over. I don’t know wether this is an known thing but if it’s not maybe it’s for an informative video for people who don’t have them yet?

It is not ALWAYS the scrap dealer who pays you for the logs. It will vary between those two. sometimes you may have to teleport to another system to turn it in (check teleporter for symbol on which system you need to go to). IF you haven't paid for one yet, you can't get a free one, you must do the mission first before you can obtain the free one from Helios.

for one you need to buy the very first one for 5 mil from the scrap dealer, then he will start having it, then if you have extracted nanites from him he needs a day to rest. after that once a week he should have the emergency broadcast reciever hope that helps!

I found another way to do this glitch Alternatively, if you are playing with a friend, have them open use the console and open the door when you first arrive at the freighter. I've tested this with about 4-5 different broadcast receivers and done them multiple times. However, it seems as if they are the same style / loot content each time you use the same (reused) one.

A couple things I noticed, first you do not need to activate every teleporter, just activate the last one. Every time you walk into one it cycles to the next active teleporter, so if you accidently walk back into the airlock teleporter you'll get wisk away to the next one. If you have all the teleporters active it takes a few teleports to get back to the airlock again, a minor annoyance but not activating those teleports makes a minor annoyance a little less annoying lol. Second you dont need to land at the space station before taking the beacon out of the personal refinery, you can land anywhere and it will become a regular beacon instead of an active one. Havent tried to see if the Captains Log and Crew Manifest stack or not, since I end up warping to another system in search for the elusive S class modules, so I end up at a Space Station anyways. Finally when selling/donating the Captains Log and the Crew Manifest, check to see if you are "Selling" the item for nanites or "donating" for faction rep. I have had the Scrap dealer give me faction rep and the envoy give me nanites before. Not sure if this was an error that was corrected in the recent patch or not, but I was frustrated at getting faction rep when I dont really need it anymore. That's kinda funny. The game is programmed to check your inventory for the item, which it is there, because items in your personal refinery are still there, but it seems like all the game needs to allow you entry is simply the presence of the item rather than making sure it's taken from your inventory first before allowing you to proceed. I betcha why that's why this works.

It would be the same as it is right now. If you use one but ignore the freighter it resets. If you land but then leave it rests. Only when you open the door the technology is destroyed. Change it so when the door opens the technology resets instead of being destroyed. If you use the receiver and try to use another one right after it says signal jammed.

I forgot about the Receiver I put in the personal refiner and Jumped to another Glaxy.... When I repaired the personal refiner after the jump is was bugged and inoperable. It shows an image of Dirty Bronze or Chromatic Metal in the "fuel" slot and makes a constant buzzing sound when you try access it. Dissembling and reassembling doesn't fix it. Jumping to another galaxy and repairing it again doesn't fix it. Dissasembling and jumping then reassembling dosen't fix it... Don't forget to take it out!!!

My post-origins method: (23 OCT 2020 Xbox One) 1. Activate [Emergency Broadcast Receiver] 2. Put active [Emergency Broadcast Receiver] inside [Personal Refiner] 3. Open derelict freighter door via terminal 3. Take active [Emergency Broadcast Receiver] out of [Personal Refiner] at any time after initial derelict door but BEFORE you return to the station 4. Complete derelict freighter (Skip logs) 5. Pulse to space station, get out, active [Emergency Broadcast Receiver] is now reset AND you have saved your progress 6. Repeat steps 1-5

The receivers go up to 30mil if you continually buy them in the same system. If you hop systems, the first one you buy will be 5mil and then go up. HG wants us to go system to system completing derelict freighter, but of course we don't have to 😉

I've been getting free ones from doing Nexus missions. It usually gives one for the first mission every day. This glitch isn't really even necessary unless you're like a day old, money is just too easy to come by in this game. I've bought 10 at 30mil a pop just to use up the credits :)

Hey I just wanted to throw this out there the item itself is glitched Iv used the same one 4 different times Without moving it and it still didn’t get “used” idk it’s Weird and cool Also I play the Xbox version of NMS so idk if that changes anything 🤷🏾‍♂️and I love your videos you have helped me with everything in nms it’s been a blast watching you play and learning ❤️Iv also wanted to know if you are going to ever do another nms Playthrough??🤪

Hey Jason I found a new glitch so to speak I found an S-Class module on a derelict freighter and then when I redid that same freighter again I also got another S-Class module I've already gotten like 4 S-Class hyperdrive that add 247 light years to my freighter eatch and I've got Mining and other exploration mods and they're all s class every single time.

i wish that this wasn't a glitch since it takes so long and costs so much (eventually). you could pull a elite dangerious and make salvaging your "job" or even make a full on salvage crew. (jumping the gun, i know, but i just think it would be cool)

I can confirm this works on PS4 as well. I just did it and sure enough it works. I don't know if it matters but I didn't take mine out of my refiner untill I sold all of the loot I had.
