the thing that bothered me most about her ‘debunking jack wright’ video thingy, was her “why didn’t you report me immediately?” because there’s a lot of factors that SA victims go through these things such as some fearing that they wouldn’t be believed, some feared being hurt again, some were ashamed and some wondered if it was truly their fault that it happened. - sometimes, the age, gender or race comes into play, especially male survivors; they’re not usually believed so that’s why most kept to themselves. anyways, that “why didn’t you report me?” point was weak

Be it that they hadn't made a claim of assault or they weren't believed when they did. Can be any number of reasons. It's just that sexual assault victim advocate sounds weird to me, can you explain what that title means?
@janetandamocha78742 жыл бұрын
@@starcraft2own A lot of times sexual assault victims would come to the organization I worked for and I would work with them to get things like restraining orders, police interviews (if they wanted to report), being with them during rape exams, and being there to support them in court. The name does sound weird - still better than what my position was initially called - sexual assault advocate sounds...not so great...One of the positives about an advocate is that, unless they are a victim witness coordinator or something, advocates are not part of the judicial system or in any way run by the police. Outside of the legal advocacy, I would often help sexual assault victims who were within 200% of the federal poverty line apply for things like rent and energy assistance and work with them to get safe housing. It was really interesting and rewarding work, but I completely burned out and had to take a break from advocacy because it was very emotionally draining. Sorry that was so long!

Sorry if I sound ignorant, but wouldn’t sexual assault be committing sexual acts on someone without their consent (aka r*pe)? How is kissing an unconscious person sexual assault (not that I don’t agree with you!)?
@iovelii88312 жыл бұрын
@@Alicia-kp8bg i would say sexual assault is the prelude to rape. it's the (nonconsensual) sexual advancement that leads to the nonconsensual sexual act (rape, which involves penetration by definition). kissing can be very intimate and very sexual if you make it out to be, especially since it's normally something you only do with your significant other. and from what it looked like, she was very heatedly making out with him while he was unconscious, when they're only friends (there are *other* videos of them kissing, yes, but that's only in the tiktok scene. think of them as actors acting for a movie - they only kiss and act romantic on-screen, that's what's agreed upon. but, you don't see actors crossing these boundaries outside of the screen unless they're in an official, consensual relationship). the kiss was nowhere near innocent, it wasn't just a brief peck to the lips or cheek. she did it with intent, with her own "needs" in mind (her needs, not his, he didn't consent to it) and i'm sure if jack's friend wasn't present, she would have gone farther. and technically, she did, seeing how she broke into his home numerous times and slipped her hand down to his you-know-what while he was, again, unconscious. i only feel pity for jack at this point and it's crazy how sienna keeps trying to defend herself even when the evidence is clearly against her.

And every time I’d bring it up, he’d act like it was an accident or deny it or play dumb. Sometimes he’d own up to it, apologize (still have the texts🙃) and then do it again the next day. It’s been almost 2 years since I cut him off completely but the whole thing has really fucked me up. This shit is infuriating.

Hate making this argument but could you imagine if Jack had been accused of repeatedly breaking into Sienna's House and ignoring her boundaries? I think her lawyer spelled it out the best when she called the accusations an attempt to bring down a "woman of colour". Nah man it was about exposing a sexual predator. Also "there hasn't been a criminal investigation or legal proceedings so I'm innocent" will no doubt age like milk. Let's not forget the intimidation of bringing in a lawyer and the forensic analyst who says "your evidence won't hold up in court." Honestly chilling that someone could be so vindictive to someone they claim they wanted to marry

I do believe rape culture overall more strongly affects women, but there are definitely parts that have bad effects on men, like this kind of thing. I’m glad Jack got some justice here and she got a lot of opportunities taken away. I hope this sets some kind of precedent and other female sexual abusers get what’s coming to them. @@Eowyn126 I don't think rape culture affects women more strongly at all. It affects men and women differently, it's not a fucking pissing contest of suffering. Men and women are different in a lot of ways and how they get affected by things can vary quite dramatically. Doesn't make one way easier or harder. If you need an example to understand my point, what if a woman came out and no one would believe her, not ever her closest friends. In fact their first reaction would be to mock her for even suggesting she could fall victim to something like that in the first place, or that if it were true then she had every chance in the world and then some to just walk out the door. And even if after people were to believe her, this is still the opinion a huge majority of those around her would have about her situation and they wouldn't be scared of reminding her of that. That's pretty much the story of every man i've talked to that have been sexually assaulted have told me. Pretty horrible, the inability to even be taken seriously. Like i said, it's different, not worse or easier. And i'm talking from a lot of experience, i don't personally work with rape victims. But my entire family does and so i've grown up with these people and their stories. The idea that women suffer more is frankly absurd if you know what's actually going on and it always gives me a sour taste in my mouth when i read that kind of sentiment. Being a sexual assault victim of any degree affects both genders differently but the pain is equal, you cannot say one reality is worse than the other (Unless you want men to just suck it up). Atleast women have a platform to talk about it and get help from.

I'm so glad you're covering something like this. There are so many male victims who have been abused by women who never come forward because "You're a man, you must have enjoyed it" and it's the same stupid excuse that people give women for wearing short skirts when they have been assaulted. It makes me sick to my stomach and I'm commenting to help the algorithm find this and spread some awareness. Hope karma bites her in the ass.

When I was 17 (coincidentally, Sienna's age when she did all this), my boyfriend at the time told me about how he was assaulted by an older girl when he was 13. I'm embarrassed to say that one of the first things I said to him was "...did it feel good at least?" I had never really known any guy to be assaulted by a woman before so I honestly didn't know how to process that information and responded poorly. When I smartened up and realized how messed up that kind of thinking was, I apologized to him. I don't want anyone to ever talk to a victim the way I did to my then-boyfriend. So I'm glad people are having this discussion regarding male victims of SA. We're far from having everyone in the world taking male victims seriously but it's a lot better than how the social landscape was a few years ago!

Yeah I think it’s more she’s a narcissist. About the whole merch scandal at the beginning of the video how she handled that. In her mind people love her and will easily forgive her no matter what. And she can’t fathom ever being in the wrong. And she also can’t fathom why somebody like Jack would not want her. If anything that’s probably why she felt like she could get away with it and didn’t think she did anything wrong. Because in her mind Jack should want to be with her. Just watching how she talks about Jack constantly. Its all about her feelings and her desires she never really talks about Jack and what he wants. She doesn’t even try to imply that Jack wanted to be with her. it’s all about how Jack made her feel. That’s like textbook signed of narcissism. Similar to like watching that R. Kelly interview. Where like he doesn’t think he did anything wrong. Like they’re both narcissist they both can’t fathom why anyone would think they’re bad people. Its always everyone else is the problem not them.

Her lawyer is there to defend her, regardless of whether she's guilty or innocent. Both the lawyer and "forensics expert" are both being paid by Sienna to make her look good. And all the "forensics expert" was able to claim was that the video was technically not long enough to be used in court, NOT that the video is fake or that Jack's claims about what happened were wrong. Sienna is such a manipulative, conceited, and self centered person. It makes me laugh that she claims she wanted to keep all of this private as to not minimize sexually assault. Not gonna lie, I think everyone's reaction to the shirt is overkill... Is wearing a "taco Tuesday" shirt with a cartoon taco also putting people struggling with food on blast? Is a shirt of someone's half-marathon they ran going to sadden a paraplegic? Is a shirt with a beer can on it going to trigger recovering alcoholics? Virtually everything can be interpreted as insensitive to SOME group of people out there, so in some cases it's best for the individual to address their own issues than to press everyone around them to consider every minute detail (and the inverse for other situations is also true!)

I was SA'd by my then boyfriend on my 21st birthday when I was passed out. He was from a very affluent family and a part of a fraternity so to make any claims against him was beyond intimidating. It took me years to even wrap my head around what it was that happened even when it happened another time after followed by an attempt on a separate occasion. I am sure she thinks she did nothing wrong - they have kissed before and touched, maybe not in a sexual way, but they have been skin to skin. Just like my ex. But that doesn't mean that performing actions on someone - even if they have consented to those things before- when they cannot consent is not ok. It doesn't matter what age you are or what gender. This is exactly why the "me too"movement started. To give support to those who have been abused and are silenced by those with a great amount of power, money or influence. And for the lawyer to have the audacity to dismiss and diminish his claims because he did not file a report etc etc. is ridiculous. Not only is it blatant victim shaming/blaming but it's called the dark figure and even a freshman level criminology class will tell you that over half of SA and R go unreported for numerous reasons. And I feel for this young man. I was not believed that I was assaulted because I was told it wasn't " violent" or "typical R" and that it was by a boyfriend so I do "qualify" to be a "victim" or to be as upset as I am and just a bunch of other really crass things. I cannot even imagine for a young man to be SA'd because even the "typical victims," females, often have uphill battles to climb in order to be believed. I'm sure he has and is facing a lot of shit for coming out and saying what he did. It's not "flattering" or "cool" that this young women kept violating his boundaries.
