Exactly 💯 my ex husband would start criticizing how I looked and even tried to get me to feel like everything was my fault. He was projecting his guilty conscience onto me and I knew exactly what he was doing. I mentally checked out and immediately Left. I have felt so much peace since leaving. Them tables turned, he didn't expect me to leave.

This was why I had to end my marriage. Every interaction became a negative one and he was constantly criticizing me and accusing me of things. And it was all MADE UP. I wasn’t doing any of the things he was accused me of, I wasn’t the type of person he was constantly making me out to be, it nearly made me lose my mind and literally wore on my physical health.

My ex. He would criticize how I cleaned, how I cooked, talked, laughed, fkd, slept, he criticized my car. He hated talking to me on the phone. He hated how I told a story. I would get myself together and tried to always look good and he couldn’t put the words together to say I looked nice. He had words to criticize. But never to appreciate. I would give him a massage; he hated it. I’m telling you I couldn’t do anything right. But when I was ready to break up with him, he would say he understood he was difficult and he would work on it.

Dealing with this right now kmt...really impacts your confidence and self esteem. Realised self care is very important and realising they are projecting most of the time so when you are taking care of yourself it's easier to bat that projection back at them and stop telling them everything you're doing especially negative, they'll use that against you.
