I loved when he explained to Rampage, who is notoriously reluctant to embrace fans, that when fans approach him that he “knows it’s going to be over soon.” I saw Mr. White at LAX with my kid, who was five at the time and shyest little nugget in the world, and he was SO nice. I asked him about what martial arts system to put my son in and he said, “how about the one he likes the most?” As a BJJ practitioner who wanted to insist my guy does it, it changed my whole perspective. Ten years later, my son is a black belt in Hap Ki Do, black belt in TKD, and a purple belt in BJJ, and is so happy. Thanks, Mr. White!

Fun fact - Michael Jai White is both the first actor to portray a superhero in Cinema and the first black man to portray a superhero in Movie history. Beating Wesley Snipes' 1999 portrayal of Marvel's Blade compared to MJW's portrayal of Spawn in 1991. And he's a legit martial artist by showing how certain more effective fighting techniques are not used in favour of more flashier moves which is a nod to Chinese Martial Arts and how they go through their Martial Arts Choreography.

A lot of weirdos in the comments are completely unfamiliar with just who MJW really is. Many of these comments also show you what a poor attention span and selective listening problem a lot of society has. MJW is a truly brilliant combat mind and ambassador of martial knowledge. The fact that he has so many pro fighter legends from Rampage to Francis to Saki to Mayweather to even Jones vouching for his legitimacy in terms of techniques, abilities and skill should already be enough to tell you. Too many clowns are trying to lump him in with that "seagal who likes to take credit for champion fighters' greatness" type of character and MJW is nothing like that. If you really LISTEN he explains that he'll never claim to be a real fighter on that level that all these pros who do it for a living are. But he's not going to deny that he brings to the table knowledge and abilities of techniques that are unorthodox to pros because they don't deal with them every day. That's what he was saying with Jon. He even said he knows Jones is so good, if he figured him out and went all out he would have slammed him all over the place. MJW has a knowledge and skillset similar to guys like MVP, wonderboy, Raymond Daniels, and Yair Rodriguez. He understands the range and in and out blitzing and sniping learned in point karate that is similar to fencing. It actually makes one very hard to hit while scoring. But he also has boxing and hard form skills like Kyokushin and kickboxing, and he's studied Muay Thai and many other combat forms. He's extremely observant and intuitive. What he said about Remy and Jones was spot-on. He never makes any of the claims these lames in the comments are alleging, but they act like just because he is fully self-aware that certain techniques and abilities he is skilled in are things many pros aren't used to, suddenly that means he's being arrogant and the same as seagal. NO. Not even close.

BS. Mike never tested him. Mike is definitely the "king of violence" and deserves props where due, but he's had too many brain cells annihilated from all the head trauma so he's not the sharpest tool in the shed. He was a dummy for beefing with MJW because he was reaching with no reason to beef. He read into MJW's video and interaction with Kimbo wrongly and interpreted it as disrespect to Kimbo when it wasn't. Mike didn't even know Kimbo like that. Just because he grew up in Florida, didn't mean he was tight with the Florida OG. MJW actually knew Kimbo and they were good friends. It was a dumb beef.

@@Cilent__ There's no reasoning with these haters. I've already tried. The vast majority of them are Bruce Lee and/or seagal fanboys who have been butthurt against MJW ever since the infamous remarks he made on DJ Vlad's channel. MJW was never even disrespectful regarding Bruce. I'm a lifelong fan of the legend just as much as the next man and I never once interpreted his stance on Bruce as "disrespectful" or "disingenuous." There are weight classes in fighting for a reason and MJW not only has immense size, reach and weight advantage over Bruce, but he's incredibly fast, powerful, agile and accurate too. I always said Bruce's best chance would be a in a no-rules/NHB fight or street fight where weapons are allowed against MJW. Bruce was a realist. I'm willing to bet were he alive, he'd agree. But they don't want to here that. Every time there is a new MJW video, they're quick to jump in the comments with their own agenda and twist his words or make assumptions to suit their narrative. They'll look for any little thing to vilify MJW even when the hosts like Rampage are vouching for him.

Don’t get me wrong I think Michael is an excellent martial artist, although I think there is something to “fighters”. There’s just an intensity, applied athleticism when it counts and mean-ness & you can see Michael is more nice and intellectual . The main issue I have with his "brand" is that he implied he could beat ALL the Expendibles in a REAL FIGHT which included both Randy Couture and Dolph Lundgren. Randy Couture is a 5X UFC champion and he did it when he was over 40 years old for the last 3 championships. In other words, even though he's a martial arts actor, he's trying to brand himself as someone with real professional fight credentials. He is NOT Don "The Dragon" Wilson who's a legit kickboxing world champion. He's a martial arts ACTOR who can fight, not someone who is a real professional fighter as he tries to brand himself.

@@RichardYu1983 I was referring to Dolph Lundgren, as for Couture, you'd have to see him move around first before you could make that judgement. Chuck Liddell looked awful in his last fight and Randy Couture had a lot of very hard fights that take a lot out of you. Neither of us know in what condition he would be in.

I saw what his "sparring" with Gokan Saki in Dubai looked like. Zero touching Gokan Saki knowing that he was showing him BS but was too respectful and played along with him. Similar to the dancing around he does in youtube videos with Jon Jones and Cowboy which is not even close to sparring.

And yes he is right, be a fighter is a career, fight one is an while does make you a fighter, try to recover after a fight and get ready for the next one in 3 months time, that’s is a complete different business, considering that someone arrive to the next match still with the scratches of the previously one.
