Let’s be serious here: firstly, PlayStation used to be pretty good. In 1994 (or 95 in America and most major European territories), they were the brand new underdogs in the video game industry. So they had to do something different to stand out from the two biggest gaming titans, SEGA and Nintendo. When SEGA dabbled with CD technology and that failed (SEGA CD/MEGA CD in Japan), PlayStation took that and made it popular. Not just for video games and better audio quality for video games, but because SEGA failed to use CD tech to allow developers to keep manufacturing costs low, thus allowing them to allocate more money to full on development. PlayStation did have their own first party CDs that held more storage for larger games and higher quality audio, but developers could just as easily bulk buy blank CDs from a store for pennies on the dollar, write their games to them, send them to Sony for the approval and have them manufacture the “PlayStation disc wobbles” as a form of first party copy protection. Looking at Sony’s first (and now former) partner in the industry, Nintendo. Nintendo utilized Sony’s audio technology in the Super NES’s sound chip. This is why, when compared to SEGA’s standard YAMAHA chips, most SNES games had higher quality audio and music. Ken “The Father of PlayStation” Kutaragi would use his already established relationship with Nintendo to start working on a CD addon for the Super NES. Well, Nintendo got cold feet over Sony having full control over the production and licensing of the CDs, so Nintendo went with Sony’s rival, Phillips. Sony hated this. They tried shopping around for other console manufacturers, SEGA included, and they all said no. So Ken convinced his higher ups (AKA his bosses) to make the PlayStation alone. They told him that if he could form his own team and get it going on his own, it was a deal. From there, the rest is history. I bring all of that up, namely the situation with Nintendo, because it shows that, without the other older gaming titans, PlayStation technically would not exist today. Hell, had Nintendo gone alone with it? Even though Sony might be making their own consoles, we’d more than likely see both Nintendo and Sony working together on projects today. So, in conclusion, any time a Sony Pony or PlayStation fanboy thinks PlayStation is the only good platform, they just need to keep in mind that it’s thanks to SEGA’s failure with CD based gaming and Nintendo’s own screw up that their precious console and corporation still exists. And no, I’m not saying Nintendo and/or SEGA are GOATed. I have my own bones to pick with them. And Xbox. But I was making a very obvious point that, without SEGA’s and Nintendo’s colossal failures, PlayStation likely wouldn’t exist on its own like it does today.

JayTech was being roasted for being an anti-gamer console fanboy and having bad takes non stop since the first time Rags made a video on him, which was over 8 years ago, and the guy still didn't learn. While ideally it would be nice that these indies get a simultaneous release sometimes it's just not physically possible. These games go through certification processes to be allowed onto a platform and of course making the skew for a platform isnt exactly like flipping a switch and it's done. Also this is from a lot of things ive seen and read and while there is an indie audience on PS and Xbox ofc the main platforms where a lot of folks have seen indies do incredibly well is obviously PC and Switch. Hell Nintendo literally has an entire brand of directs that exist solely to promote indies and I'm sure they offer the developers lucrative exclusivity deals probably life changing money for these small teams. PS port being last doesnt really surprise me, if anything its great that the developers want to put out a good version of their game on it. More great games is always better
