They can't see that, while the entry price is probably higher, it costs much less in terms of upkeep. You can also just change individual pieces if they get old or break down (unless your PSU fails catastrophically and takes the entire system with it or something).

PC is an open platform. It doesn't need exclusives. Even if Valve decides to enter the console market they still wouldn't need exclusives. Because people already have their libraries. Many of the same devs working on the original are making big improvements, and even online mode was implemented. Consoles absolutely DO have emulators. At least since PS1. PSP had homebrew and emulators. PS3/X360 homebrew and emulation scene is still massive. XBOX One and Series allow to run homebrew and emulators officially by enabling dev mode. The thing is it is still way more complex and inferior than emulation on the computer with a non-restrictive OS (Windows, Linux, Android, etc) and the actual target audience of that consoles won't be able to touch it even knowing it's there. PC has tons of exclusive games, tons of ex-exclusive games (which somehow only counts in favour of consoles when it's reversed), tons of other features consoles doesn't have, but that's not the point - those are not the reasons PC is great, those are effects of its superiority. And the reason of the superiority is simple - that's a flexible and open platform in terms of hardware, OS and software. Ironically, those things has nearly doomed it, naturally fragmenting the user base, until broadband internet and digital distribution kicked in, bringing in coherent and conscience services for both devs and players.

As it gets it’s own, every XBox game, and every Playstation game. You get everything. Right in one place. Here is the thing that a lot of ppl get confused n lost when it comes to the cost of a pc, and that is the price to performance. Let's say someone is running a 6gb 1660 super. It's a solid card for around $200 bucks, but there is the 6600 and the 580 8gb cards that's $200 and under. All these cards are solid 1080p cards that will last for a while. But look at the new Intel arc cards, 10 and 12 gb cards for $200 to $250 that can play in 1440p. There are so many options and quality of parts that it leaves ppl confused, so they just get a pre-built with $100 to $200 build fee so they just take it home, plug it in n play. I can understand that mindset, but I've enjoyed building my own pc for years and knowing I'm getting my full dollar value out of what I've bought. Even budget is an issue. Set a budget and keep to it. Too many times, ppl have set a budget n, and then they start adding 5 dollars here and 10 dollars there, and before they realize they have a $600 build rather than a $500 build, plus ppl tend to for get about peripherals ( lol I have done this a time or two ). The only time upgrades become truly expensive is when you're upgrading too often. Upgrading every 5 to 10 years is a good rule of thumb imo. Realistically, the only thing that I think holds ppl back is availability. Yea, you can order stuff online, but everyone has a story of buying something online that soured them from doing it again. Ppl would much rather just go to a store, buy the product, and walk out with it, no waiting a week or more, and no shipping costs or chance of their product getting trashed during delivery. I know it seems silly, but that matters to a lot of ppl. But we are seeing the shift from console gaming to pc gaming, and for anyone thinking of making the switch to pc, do it yea it can seem overwhelming at first, but it's really not that complicated and there are plenty of channels dedicated to explaining and breaking down how easy building and maintaining a pc really is plus pc gamers will always call out if parts are not worth the price they are being sold for. But if not, that's cool, pc gaming isn't going anywhere, but consoles are slowly getting phased out. Just take a chance and see what it's like . If you decide it's not for you, that's cool. Sell your build to someone you know or online. Someone is always looking for a good gaming pc.

I have bought Humble Bundle and Fanatical Game Bundles each month every month since august last year.. a few bundles each month.. in that time I have spend at most 1.200 euro (converted from danish kroner) and for that money I have gotten almost 800 games in my steam library next go the 500 games that alleady was in my library.. how many ps5 games could I have gotten for that money.. a hundred? That is ONLY if the sales on the ps store is really, really good. Let me repeat.. I got 800 pc games for the price of 1.200 euro.. that include a wealth of genres and game experiences from big AAA games to strategy games, simulation, rpgs, indie games and everything in between. many will say "you dont need all those games".. and they are right.. but I like choice and if my finanses changes for the worse at one point or another then Im covered for years and years and years game wise. I like that fact.

On my PC I can play current gen PC games, old PC games (in fact almost all games ever made for PC are probably playable on any actual PC, either through emulation or VMs) and I can play GB, GBA, SNES, N64, Nintendo DS, Nintendo 3DS, Wii, WiiU, Gamecube, Sega, PS1, PS2, PS3, Xbox, Switch games... etc etc etc...

Well see, the PC overlords didn't pay for any games to be exclusive, so even though the only way to play a boatload of games is on PC, they just don't count as exclusives. Somebody has to pay lot of money to stop everyone who doesn't own the box with the right logo from playing for a game to count. An Exclusive is a Game taken hostage by one platform via a contract that excludes other platforms from getting the game for a limited or unlimited time. There are countless games on PC which never made it to consoles for various reasons... but they aren't exclusive. The publishers could port it to other platform whenever they want.

Total War games are almost exclusive to PC, they recently ported TW: Empire to mobile I think, consoles could run it, maybe even TW: Warhammer 3 on low settings. But most of the consumers dont have the K&M that they made for them tho and using a gamepad is... horrible for it.

Yeah. You need Quality-level AI upscaling to rival native rendering. Consoles aren't that, as they mostly dont even upscale from balanced but performance or ultra-performance. Add to that, even PSSR struggles (if a game has quality level upscaling) as the hardware tech is still based on RDNA2, mostly. Though still an improvement from their previous models.

yes that 4090 may be expensive currently but in the long term it will be the cheaper option by the time that 4090 become outdated we would go through several consoles generations and costing console gamers more in the long term. of course, a console peasant a.i only care muh gawphics. Pc gamers do not care about exclusives counter strike and half-life could go to console today and pc gamers would not care but actually celebrate that console gamers can play those games. The reason pc won nothing because of its price which i hate that stigma. Thats the reason i didnt get a pc and got a ps5 but man i wish i was less stupid because with pc you have the option to buy parts separately and slowly build it i wish i did that because now im only 2 parts aways from finishing my pc and its only been 2 months!!!
