Yeah, she never recovered from her divorce. It broke her heart to tear apart her family. She fell into a deep depression, and never bounced back. She was all about her kids, and she lost them. I hope her Ex husband is happy with his handiwork, the bastard. That Poor woman suffered later in life, RIP. People are just awful sometimes.

I worked on her house in the late 90's, she really was a lovely person, always asking about my kids when I called there and her mother was a typical Irish mammy, wanted to know how we all were. How many famous people would make you a cheese sandwich when you were there working late. To be fair her husband was always nice as well, who knows what happened between them. RIP Dolores.

The Cranberries is one of my all-time favorite bands. When Dolores O'Riordan died I was shattered. She had a voice that could flip from fire to ice in two notes. The bands songs cover so many different moods and themes. Check out the moody song Dreams, the playful Just My Imagination, the swing of Stars, the haunting Pretty, the lyrical You and Me. They have so many great songs it's really difficult to point out a few. Thanks for highlighting them.

This song has always been one that makes my heart hurt. The way she was able to put so much emotion into her words without it sounding like a whiny song... gah... so good... i remember Jr High and high school all my friends listening to pure pop (like Britney spears type pop, spice girls)... and then here's me jamming to the cranberries, Blind Melon, (old) No Doubt, Sublime, Sound Garden. My friends thought I was the weird one. Now they are into "old school alt music" which is all the stuff I've been listening to for 20-25 years.

The band behind her, the song writing, the production work, the layering... everything was perfect and still the character in her voice stands above it. She was able to pack in emotion that seemed effortless, and the vocalizations that were not lyrics were nails in our hearts. I do not risk listening to the Cranberries when I'm driving. I don't know if it is the melancholy memories I've bound to the timeframe or the sadness in the melody, but it isn't safe to cry when you're behind the wheel.

This song is one of my favorite songs by The Cranberries... I used to cry every time I heard it because it reminded me of everything my pathetic excuse for a high school ex boyfriend did to me... at my junior prom we were dancing and this song came on and we danced to it and it became our song... I don’t cry listening to this song anymore it’s more anger that I feel when hearing the song now because of the lines “If you, if you could get by trying not to lie things wouldn't be so confused and I wouldn't feel so used” “but I'm in so deep you know I'm such a fool for you, you got me wrapped around your finger” due to the fact that my ex boyfriend lied to me, cheated on me, used me, called me names, made snide remarks, and made me feel like shit about myself, and I was stupid enough to not see that from the beginning... he called me names like thunder thigh, twigs, hobbit among others... he knew that I had mental health issues (former anorexic, bullying victim, other insecurities, etc.) I met the as***le junior year of high school at tryouts for our school’s gymnastics team we clicked instantly we started talking and became friends then pretty soon more than friends we dated went to prom together but he then became very possessive and controlling and was just plain mean... the summer before senior year I broke it off with him because I was talking to a mutual friend of ours one day and by accident he let it slip what my now ex boyfriend was doing behind my back and after I confronted him about it we were constantly fighting with one another... I almost called the cops on him once because he would not stop harassing me... he kept leaving broken household items on my front porch for example a broken lamp, messed up toaster, shit that people were getting rid of... I texted him telling him to please stop and he lied to me telling me he had no idea what I was talking about then I told him a lie saying I had security cameras on my front porch so I can see who was leaving the broken items and he again lied to me and then after I threatened to call the cops he finally confessed... moral of the story is before you start dating talk to a mutual friend (if you have one) about the guy or girl learn about their intentions not just from the possible significant other but from the other person who knows them so you won’t put yourself through heartbreak and betrayal... on another note, it’s so sad that in January 2018, Dolores O’Riordan lead vocalist and lyricist of the Irish alternative rock band The Cranberries passed away... from drowning due to alcohol intoxication... as the coroner states she drowned in a bathtub after becoming unconscious due to alcohol intoxication resulting in her untimely passing... intoxication is not fun I’ve had to be hospitalized multiple times for intoxication (not alcohol intoxication, medication intoxication) I have a epilepsy and am on high doses of several medications and sometimes the level on one medication can be so high my blood can become very toxic and other days the medication level gets so low it’s almost nonexistent and I have seizures... my body metabolizes one particular medication differently day to day week to week month to month etc. than the others so I have mixed reactions all the time and am constantly hospitalized for either my medication level is so high, that my blood becomes so toxic I have the reaction of not being able to walk and see, nausea/vomiting, headache, incoherent speech (talking gibberish/slurred speech) etc. or the medication level is so low, that it’s almost nonexistent in my blood and I have seizures... I’ve had to be taken to the hospital in an ambulance from multiple locations some weird ass places such as the movie theaters, a boat dock, a nursing home, my house, school, etc. and I’ve missed days of school because of it in high school and in college but I still managed to graduate high school (class of 2018) then making Dean’s List in college (fall semester 2019) all while having a rough time dealing with my health deteriorating... I’m glad to say that my health is in a good place again and I’m doing well thanks to my vns (vagus nerve stimulator) surgery (December 17th 2019, a little less than a week before Christmas)

We had REAL DIVERSITY back then, not this fake bullshit that we have now. This country has gone to shit. I'm glad I grew up in the 90's, I would never want to be a young person now, screw that! Only a few female vocalists make my hairs stand up, one is Karen Carpenter the other Dolores. Such a harmonic range. Can I suggest a couple of out there reviews that I have not come across by anyone? First the prodigy and there's not much to review vocally with them as they started as a British rave act, Liam Howlett was the only artist signed as he was the producer, Keith (RIP) Flint, Leeroy Thornhill were dancers and Maxim reality was the live show MC. Their first album (experience) was dance oriented, by the time of their 2nd album (music for the jilted generation) you could hear more industrial elements start to come in (tracks like no good start the dance, their law and voodoo people) by the 3rd album (the fat of the land) they were a morph of dance, punk, grunge taking influence from RATM and pantera as well as the sex pistols another punk band that never really gets covered and is my 2nd choice (god save the queen, anarchy in the UK)

This is one of the top 3 songs by a group I really love. Sad to hear that Dolores O'Riordan passed away so young. Another of my favorites is Dreams. I really grew to love that song after it was featured in the movie "The Next Karate Kid". It was in the scene at a Monks Monastery where Mr. Miagie was teaching his female student.

Dolores has a rock voice but also a traditional Irish music voice which is both beautiful and haunting. Love her.

"Dreams" and "Ode to My Family" are great. The Cranberries were a FANTASTIC band, I wish more people knew them for more than "Zombie".

Their song Zombie was born out of pure frustration for the situation here in N Ireland... they were massive in the 90’s with songs like Linger and their song Dreams, check that song out ♥️

I just loved the sound of The Cranberries. Not just Dolores' voice and singing style, but the gorgeous guitar sound. Their album "Everybody Is Doing It, So Why Can't We?" used to be one of my absolute favorites. Linger, Pretty, I Still Do, and Not Sorry, are golden songs.

That whole album I knew every word! I turned my nieces on to The Cranberries and they loved them and we still can sing their songs!
