Most singers don't try to hide any accents. They sing to the music and it informs the accent ... nothing could make that more clear than blues, folk and country, no one is hiding anything
@treff9226 Жыл бұрын
@@theccpisaparasite8813 Yessir - I believe that some vocalists simply lose some of their accent naturally, all singers are unique into themselves. I do tend to gravitate towards singers who keep a lot of their accent while vocalizing: John Lennon, Liam Gallagher, Van Morrison, Morrissey, Sinead O' Conner. I really dig that British accent above all others! I don't think you can sing properly TRYING to hide your accent. Nice comment! Cheers!

The best thing about this song. Dolores was auditioning for the Cranberries. Things went fine. They gave her an instrumental version of this on tape to see if she could write some lyrics. Next week she came back with this and the rest is history.

After she left the guys looked at each other and collectively remarked "How is she NOT already in a band". I believe she was 18 or 19 when she auditioned. She brought a broken keyboard and rode there on a bike. I also heard she was kinda couch surfing as she had a disagreement with the parents over her career choices. They quickly patched it up though.

I had the privilege to meet the Cranberries a decade ago, along with two of my daughters (ages 8 and 9 at the time) when their mother and I were in the middle of divorcing. Dolores was so sweet to them, treating them like her own kids (she even pointed them out to the crowd between songs). Our paths may have only crossed that one time, but she is very much missed.

In a time when there was a lot of great unique bands out - Nirvana, Pumpkins, Radiohead, Massive Attack, Portishead… - The Cranberries stood out and held their own, not following any trends, just being their utterly unique selves and showcasing that unbelievably incredible voice. Their first two albums will always have a special place in my heart - I only have to hear the opening notes from Linger and I’m a teenager again. RIP Delores - gone too soon ❤️

I’ve heard lots of not my type of music when I’m out and about, when reactors say they’ve not heard certain songs, depending on their age, it can sound very unlikely. Then again I knew a white American woman who was certainly the right age to have heard a lot of classic rock in the 70s and she lived in NYC so how did she not? Classical music fan. Totally immersed. All her albums and radio station settings and concert experiences were classical. the group of younger (Gen X) friends she had acquired in old age had a great time introducing her to Queen and trying to explain Bohemian Rhapsody. She became a big fan. RIP Ms KL.
