i think temperature testing prototypes is a good idea tbh, if results are good then great, if theyre bad then tell them where they need to improve, dont hold it against them because its a prototype, just whatever makes their final product better. constructive feedback is always good
@fireztonez-teamepixcraft3993
@fireztonez-teamepixcraft3993 11 ай бұрын
Thank you, this was exactly what I was thinking. What's the point of sending a prototype if you don't do the test to really see if it performs right? It is in fact the best time to do the temperature testing and said this might need to be improved. If the results are great, then perfect, if the results are bad, then they know they have to improve something. Not testing the temperature is kinda like saying I download a game in beta, show the icon and menu, but don't play because the game is not final yet. They can't test with every single motherboard and CPU themselves, you have the chance to give them real feedback based on real test, with your material, so you should do it. If you don't want to do in public video this is your choice, but you should definitely test it.

I think that's exactly what Jay will do, but because of how some people on the internet act, he's not going to share it outside the company. I would be shocked if they didn't send it with a request to check it against everything he could so they can find weak points and iterate/improve. Fitment, temps, installation, all of it - Jay has a lot of gear he can play with and they'd appreciate it I'm sure, so I have a feeling that's what'll happen - it just won't become a video be of trolls here in the comments. 😉

When screwing like that you should start by turning each screw backward until you feel a little click, then you start turning the screws in an X pattern turning them equally. You can mark the screw with something like a sharpie to make it easier to see how much you turned it. Steve had a video where one of his team member explained how to do it.

CPU blocks that are larger are completely unnecessary on current gen. Luckily I have a few EK legacy water blocks they are tiny and still work from AM4 to 5 and the other across to LGA1700. Today's mobos are so overpowered in VRMs etc full cover water blocks are to my mind a complete waste of money. Wasn't the way up to X299 but now they are a waste.

with the block being smaller than most other blocks, you guys could 3d print some cosmetic frame to cover the gap from the old retention bracket or get a machined acrylic to extend the diffusion of the LEDs to be bigger. So many customization now that you guys have that gap. Maybe that was singularity's goal?

I have one EKWB for the 4080TUF that I have remounted several times because my temps are way too high for a custom loop(2 360mm rads, one even with push/pull fans). On the motherboard situation. I as a truck driver run CB radios and sometimes when installing CB radios. If the negative contacts the positive it will deaden the radio or if you just flat hook the wires up in the wrong order. Yes, I know it's only two wires. Go figure. But when this happens you can take the CB and directly connected to the battery. Just striking it or arcing it on the battery and it will bring a dead CB back to life. So it's probably the same thing you experience with the motherboard in some form of fashion. I believe somebody told me it reverses the polarities in the electricity.
