I just ordered these for my Talon Fox 2.5’s. Can’t wait for them to come in the mail.

They are super nice.

How about drilling the original cap and tapping a thread for a Schrader valve? Obviously would need to withstand plenty of PSI, but this could very well be a cheaper option.
@terryhatfieldmin4 жыл бұрын
Works fine to do it that way also. Doubt there would ever be an issue but I like that these protected the Schrader under the cap.

Great video! I've heard a lot of different PSI for the nitrogen. Where did hear 200 psi?
@terryhatfieldmin4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! John at JC Racing provided that information and it was confirmed by others that also work on the Fox Podiums. I've recently heard that the Fox Live Valves take less, 100 psi front, 140 psi rear. Other than that the 200 psi all around seems to be working well for everyone I've spoken to in the non-live shocks.

Have you tried changing the pressure in the shocks to see the difference in ride?
@terryhatfieldmin3 жыл бұрын
I have not. Bandit UTV and JC Racing recommended 200psi and I went with that. I have the Bandit full spring kit now. Very, very happy with how it rides.

Instead of drilling out the original caps I used a syringe needle and let the air out without having to drill.
@terryhatfieldmin4 жыл бұрын
That would be a perfect way to keep the stock caps in tact. Unfortunately, I'm short on syringes and long on drill bits. :o)

this be done with the shocks still installed in the machine, correct? No oil will be lost if done right side up?
@terryhatfieldmin2 жыл бұрын
There is no oil involved in this process so doesn't matter if they are on or off none will be lost either way. Could definitely be done on the Talon if you want.

How is the softness/stifness setting on these nitrogen?
@terryhatfieldmin2 жыл бұрын
The caps don't affect the ride other than maintaining the nitrogen level. I have all mine set at 200 as per Bandit UTV Suspensions suggestion when we changed springs.

Why cant you drill it upside down to keep the drillings in the cap?
@terryhatfieldmin4 жыл бұрын
You certainly could.

Thank you! I didn't know if you would loose oil or not! I have a set on the way so thanks for the video sir! And merry Christmas and happy new year!

@@oomcgrathoo You're very welcome. Glad to be of help. Hope you have a great Christmas and New Year also!

Did your shop fill the shocks using a nitrogen generator or compressed tank? I'm having a very difficult time finding anyone that can fill the shocks with nitrogen.
@terryhatfieldmin4 жыл бұрын
Compressed nitrogen tank.
@philc61384 жыл бұрын
@@terryhatfieldmin Okay, thanks. I wasn't too impressed with the Nitrogen generator. One of the metal fabricators I deal with cuts with nitrogen on their lasers. He has a bulk tank and can fill them for me. To purge it do you just put about 20-40 Lbs. in and let it back out?
@terryhatfieldmin4 жыл бұрын
@@philc6138 Yes on the purge procedure. Just want to make sure all the air is out and you are filling with pure nitrogen.
