And it's great. My country was one of republics in the Soviet Union. A pioneering superpower that rose on the corpse of a backward agrarian country. And look at us now, after Capitalism is back here. The people got impoverished by privatisation and the countries got turned into mere raw material neocolonies. Free housing, jobs for everyone in the speciality they graduated in, family values, technological progress, quality of life of common people getting better and better, strong social welfare, free good quality healthcare and education - those were the great times.

In my opinion socialism have it's functionality along with capitalism, except when it is drive to the extreme (i mean both systems), still being honest the Tzar started to industrialize Russia before the war, so an industrial russia could have happend anyway, they (soviets) did a great job with literacy efforts but with science? They destroyed the Aral sea and they caused chernobyl... And well they lost the cold war mainly because they couldn't compete against the capitalist system buuuuut some countries maybe for their historical backgroud are more closer to socialism that capitalism for example the Naserism, so maybe you are inside this group of compatibility
