In case you're having difficulties. Mimisbrunnr is pronounced as if there's a U before the last R, like the UR in "burr". Might work better pronouncing it as Meemis brunnur, remember to roll your Rs like in "arriba!". It's the old Norse spelling of the fountain of wisdom in Norse mythology. A pretty shit name for a transport ship if you ask me, more fitting for a research ship.

I like to think the popsicles are the former rich and powerful as this service would be a limited and therefore expensive commodity. Now they're all working as miners, farmers, etc. Bet you most of them would prefer they died than spend the rest of their life as labourers. Riches to rags. Makes me feel hopeful for humanity's future

So far from what I'm seeing they've got a big thing about using mythology and gods. Hephaestus is a Greek god of blacksmiths if I remember right and oddly enough Remus is Roman which interesting. Enjoying the series so far and I'm curious if there will be more sectors and if not how the game tries to make things more difficult as the game goes on

Remember your people are reasonable so while they will be unhappy about sticking around it will never go beyond -1 stability, this in mind it is to your advantage to stick around earth and suck the solar system dry even if it takes a few hundred cycles. You are going to need to the resources and it lets you build up critical infrastructure.

i feel like i screwed up somewhere in chapter one because i wasnt able to bring up a second steel mill and first polymer plant until chapter 2, still havent built an electronics factory, since i just lack people and to a larger extent food production

ok opened second sector but i had like 300 in sector one but i may start a new game to just mine the hell out of first phase because this game seems to push main story without telling you don't need it but you have to because you don't have science points for tech. struggling with this

Tech is a limitation, as is time and space those are your 3 major constraints in the game, starting again with a plan will help you greatly!

Non-workers! They're non-workers because you have not provided them housing. Put. The dang. Housing in. Your work shortage is solved. Watch out for your bottlenecks! You have massive bottlenecks in fetching iron for smelting, and not nearly enough storage for iron itself. You keep having to wait for iron to be fetched, while you've got a ship fetching silicon you can't even process yet, because you lack alloys for your electronics factory.

That doesn't solve the non-worker issue. I'm at about the same point in the game as this video, but I have enough housing for everyone. I still have hundreds of non-workers. I think they represent children, elderly, disabled, etc., anyone who isn't able to work.

@@JulieanGalak from watching a few other players, I think you're right - but later in the game, non-workers can be trained as colonists. Just gotta shove them in a dedicated population ward, I guess.

For some reason I'm unable to research Intelligent Lab as I don't have tier 3 tech or whatever

You need to unlock all buildings in tier 2 to progress to tier 3, its very poorly explained in the game. Its doable to get enough research points in the 2nd sector to get all buildings, and I recommend getting that upgrade as the first one in T3, as it speeds up research gain by a massive amount.

Private I do tend to move faster in the early game and slow down as the game progress as it does get harder as you move from chapter to chapter

Please slow down just a bit JD. You're skipping over lore. You've already been running at max speed for most of the playthrough. This game seems to deserve more than a sprint to the end. Remember quality over quantity is preferred... at least for me.

Scott The series will slow down when I make it to the next sector, The first two sectors are child's play and I wanted to get thru some of the earlier stuff. As for the lore, i will be lighter on the lore mainly because for games like this that tell a story I think if you wish to explore the full depths of the story and lore you should buy the game
