For me (french) say "i like her" is more friendly but say "i love her" it's really a meaning romantic. To say "je t'aime" it's like "i love you". And here, the deep emotional moment it's the crowd sang "We love you" and that's touche her a lot. Because also because one day before she get divorced after 6 years of Mariage.

This was a coordinated effort from her fans wanting to express their "Love" for Lara during a dark period in her professional and personal life which resulted in health issues and coupled by cruel comments by the French media. She began to question her existence and contemplated suicide. I believe a commenter in another reaction to “Je T'aime” stated that this was her 1st live appearance in a few years. The fans knew of her struggles and approached her pianist to arrange a surprise. Read that some 6000+ fans (others say 8000) were given cards with instructions on what to do. You hear a faint cry from the audience at the beginning of the song "Don't sing Lara", hence the bewildered look on her face! Another fan echoes “Don’t cry Lara!” She had stated in interviews that at this moment in time she knew life was worth living and subsequently crawled her way back into the light. Lara wrote the lyrics and Rick Allison the music in 1997; so her fans know the lyrics. She sings “Je T’aime (I Love You)” those in attendance/fans counter with “On T’aime (We Love You)”. Much of my statement was gleaned from other comments from other reactors.

Sorry the following is more accurate. She did go through much of what I stated before but not all at the same time. After watching more interviews and reviewing more comments of this song, I now have a better understand of what went on in the performance. Some of my ended comments were pure conjecture on my part. Je T'aime (I Love You - lyrics Lara Fabian and probably her most famous song). A fan yells "don't sing, Lara!" looking bewildered she hears her fans start singing. Lara starts with "you caught me off guard!" As she starts another fan cries out "don't cry. Lara". Her fans had contacted her pianist and arranged this epic and beautiful tribute to surprise Lara during a personal crisis of losing someone close a few days before this concert. So 6000+ (some say up to 8000) joined in singing her song and when Lara sung: Je T'aime (I Love You) her fans responded: On T'aime (We Love You)! You would think that this was Freddie Mercury's last concert performed before a sold out concert!!

first time seeing this performance your are watching, the crowd and fans taking such a big part and supporting ive only seen once before. a performance in sweden about 20 years ago. a duet, the song was effecting the female singer so much at the time she couldnt get the words out... the crowd took over and did her part in the duet pretty much flawless. one of my fav live performances ever still.

At 2,12 we can here someone saying 'chantes pas Lara' '' don't sing Lara''. This was already plan from the fan who want to tell her ''we love you'' cuz she was going tru very difficulte time, (divore, mangement, bussiness sh*t etc) The French audiance are known to be real fan and always sing along in a concert, but this time they even manage to let know to the band what they have plan so the band to didn't ''jump in'' the song befor laye in the song.

From what I read (form other comments), (I may be wrong), the audience wanted to serenade her while performing this song. It was their way of showing their appreciation and love/bond for her. Thats the reason why they changed the chorus from I love you to We love you. And right from the very start the crowd immediately took over. During the concert prior to singing Jet taime, Lara also did this, its her way of connecting and interacting with the audience. Their special bond. I agree Ginger, that must have been simply wonderful for her. Very attractive woman with such a beautiful voice. I discovered Lara probably 10 years ago and have loved her ever since. I was forgetting about her as have since found Nightwish and too a degree I have been listening to metal especially symphonic metal. I somehow tripped over this performance a few days ago. I knew of Lara for decades but not this performance. It must have been 100 times now that a little light came into the darkness that i call daily life. The human condition still exists.... they were handed cards as they came in some 8000 concert goers, that they were going to do this for her. With her. She did not know, the band did. Great job!!!! "Je T"aime" is listed twice below in the links. Why? Lara fans know. The first one is a very good version live she did. The second one is the one you reacted to. Her audience takes over the song, overwhelming Lara. They sing "On t'aime" -"We love you" to her while she attempts to sing '"Je T'aime '' - "I love you" back. Welcome to Lara's world...she is the deep end of the pool. The best singer\songwriter\performer of the last 30 years. FYI - Always choose live with Lara...it needs to said. "Je Suis Malade" is a practically the French national anthem. No one does it better. "Broken Vow" (English - she wrote it) is going to ruin your day. "Perdere L’amore" is a powerhouse Italian classic - a masterclass level of song and performance, in perfect Italian, that you will not be able to get out of your head (effortless perfection). "Mademoiselle Hyde" (English, tho she does another version in Russian) is written by Lara and Igor Krutoy the maestro (pick the live version from 2016 with Igor at the piano) is, lets say, a slightly more mature version of Lara slaying a beautiful, intriguing, kind of sexy weird song with an almost Arabic feel...killer Lara. "Caruso", another great Italian classic, is flawless and my favorite version of the song ever done including Pavarotti (and that is really saying something). Just her and a piano and she crushes it. Her biggets hit, "Adagio", a must see as are all of the titles I have mentioned and many more, has been covered by everyone including the great Dimash, but Lara is the queen and no one does it better ("Adagio" is a hundreds of years old classical song she wrote words to and resurrected}. "Je T'aime" is written by Lara and now a French standard that everyone knows by heart. All of her videos someone has done a version with English subtitles. Many are in English but she sings in 12 languages. Born to a Father from Belgium and a mother from Italy (Siciliy I think) and raised for a time in Canada, she speaks English, French and Italian very very fluently tho she sings in many other languages as well. Raised in essence to be a singer\songwriter\musician, she has been at her craft since she could walk and is considered to have near perfect technique, an insane sustain, "ring", resonance in her voice that is hard to overestimate how hard it is to do and how beautiful it is. The first time her audience sang for Lara Fabian was at Nimes (2000 ?)
