Her fans changed the words «Je t'aime" (I love you) to “On t’aime” which means “We love you”. More than 6000 people sang for her. Can you imagine this? Lara said that during this moment she realized the beauty of life, and that it’s really worth living it. She felt that her fans where sharing the problems she was having, and she had found the energy to overcome these problems and go on with her life.

Hi Bisscute, thanks for yet another beautiful and heartfelt reaction. I see that other people have already commented about how the crowd was saying “we love you“ and she was replying with “I love you“. Laura was going through a really tough time and the audience knew about it and they planned this way of telling her that she was loved by them. It’s even more touching when you get that. At one point just before she was starting to sing, someone in the audience yelled “don’t sing Lara”, basically saying that they were going to sing to her … about how they loved her. The reply she said near the beginning is something along the lines of “you caught me off guard“. Anyway, this is the most amazing audience interaction I’ve ever seen. It would’ve been amazing to be there. I’m so glad they gave that gift to her … and to everyone who gets to watch it like us. And yes, I’m not ashamed to say that every time I watch it I end up with tears in my eyes.

Some say that the fans have saved Lara's life. She was vry depressed due to rly serious personal and professional problems (some of those are the reason she is not well known in America). And the fans knew it and surprise her in that concert.

They were 6800 persons at the Zenith of Paris, during this concert. They were singing " on t'aime / "We" love you" and she answered " Je t'aime / I love you " .... such an intense emotional moment --- so energetic and positive ... so French !

Je T'aime (I Love You - lyrics Lara Fabian and probably her most famous song). A fan yells "don't sing, Lara!" looking bewildered she hears her fans start singing. Lara starts with "that caught me off guard!" As she starts another fan cries out "don't cry. Lara". Her fans had contacted her pianist and arranged this epic and beautiful tribute to surprise Lara during a personal crisis of losing someone close a few days before this concert. So 6000+ (some say up to 8000) joined in singing her song and when Lara sung: Je T'aime (I Love You) her fans responded: On T'aime (We Love you!). At the end of her performance and still overwhelmed she adds an additional line: “You see, I love you like that” to her adoring fans.

Oh and btw, Lara was having issues in her personal life and wasn't feeling good so in the song "je t'aime" means i love you, and instead of singing that, the crowd sings "on t'aime" which translates to "we love you". Truly beautiful❤️

She was indeed hurt. She was struggling with a lot of painful personal things at the time and she was questioning herself a lot, both career-wise and just in life. She was very depressed at the time and in a lot of pain. Her fans planned this to surprise her and to tell her how much she means to them; how much she inspires them and how wonderful and special she is to them. To let her know that they love her. She sings "je t'aime", and the fans are singing to her "on t'aime", which means "we love you". She was so touched and completely overwhelmed. She has said that this night was a big reason why she realised it was worth it to keep going. It's so raw and genuine and beautiful. It makes me cry every time. Thank you for your heartfelt reaction. I love that you did not know the backstory but knew exactly what this meant to Lara anyway.

Many others have given you some back story, but you didn't need it as you were able to read Lara's face, which says a lot about you, as a special person. Others may talk about the tuneful singing of the audience, but for me this clip says everything about Laras loving personality. Some artists would not allow them to take over her song, but Lara embraces them and not only permits, but encourages them, while she absorbs all of the love they generate. More information on Lara Fabian: Lara is recognized as one of the best vocalist ever seen on earth and all professionals list her in the top vocalist tier with Barbra, Whitney, Mariah, Celine, Lisa Fischer, .... In my personal opinion, she is even the best. There are a few vocal characteristics that are her signature: her famous resonance for instance that allows her to sing acapella without mic in venues with 8,000 attendees. Her nickname in the singing world is "the ring" due to this. I would also list her amazing phrasing, breath management and her pleasant tone even when belting in her upper register. So she is one of the best vocalist ever, but on top of that, she adds a few things that make her an absolute package with no equivalence: • she speaks 4 languages fluently (french, italian, english, spanish) and has sung in 12 languages in total • she is an amazing songwriter and wrote lyrics for most her songs, in the 4 languages she speaks. She often co-composes the music with the composer. • she acts and performs on stage as nobody else, she colors and reveals the meaning of every single word in the songs, and her ability to emote, to draw you in is second to none • she is the sweetest soul on earth, very humble, down to earth and benevolent. She likes to meet others, and her fans are always pleasantly surprised when this happens. As you have clearly come to realize, Lara is an exceptional performer and a truly wonderful person with a heart of gold and a soul to match. She was going through some frankly tragic moments in her personal life; to the extent that she was seriously considering abandoning her career, there were even days when she contemplated suicide... Her band has been with her for years, they are close knit/a family of sorts, the pianist actually set things up with the crowd during a break just before her set. This interaction with her fans, the outpouring of love she received from her ''Angels'' turned things around for her! For an insight into some of the issues she was dealing with, react to '' Broken Vow ''. Remember, she speaks French, Italian, English and Spanish fluently and sings in eight(8) more. She is a daughter, wife and mother, started her international career and has lived in Montreal for 30 years. Her lack of renown in the USA, stems from René Angélil (Céline Dion's husband/manager) worried that having another Montreal based superstar might outshine Céline's star, so they pressured the record company to back off on Lara's US launch/tour. She had no choice but switch labels and concentrate on the European and Latin-American markets, she is huge in the Eastern Block, Russia in particular, where she is acknowledged as a true Diva!

Hi Bisscute I think it’s not necessary that you understand the French words as you catch the emotion of this song. Lara was several years ago on the top of all charts and the incredible thing was the interaction with her crowd. Very good choice and maybe like the crowd in this video we can sing to you “On t’aime !”

There was 6000 fans in the arena! A delegation of fans went to see the pianist before the show and ask him if they could start the song before she did. He said ok and agreed that he would give a signal when to start singing. Of course, Lara did not know anything about that agreement.

We love to sing the lyrics in concerts in France. I attended to a dizain of Jean-Jacques Goldman's ones and audience sang with him and sometimes he let us sing . It was great !
