That was the day the audience healed her. It's one of the most touching moments in music history. Kudos to the fanbase organizers that made it happen, it was prepared and had the cooperation of the pianist iirc. It's not about the numbers of fans, it's about the connection. The respect even. Je T'aime (I Love You - lyrics Lara Fabian and probably her most famous song). A fan yells "don't sing, Lara!" looking bewildered she hears her fans start singing. Lara starts with "you caught me off guard!" As she starts another fan cries out "don't cry. Lara". Her fans had contacted her pianist and arranged this epic and beautiful tribute to surprise Lara during a personal crisis of losing someone close a few days before this concert. So 6000+ (some say up to 8000) joined in singing her song and when Lara sung: Je T'aime (I Love You) her fans responded: On T'aime (We Love you!). You would think that this was Freddie Mercury's last concert performed before a sold out concert!!

Lara is a legend in many countries, the idol of Dimash and a role model for great singers such as Josh Groban or Diana Ankudinova. I will post a separate comment with details on her background and the ingouence she has in yhe new generation of vocalists. When this concert in Paris was performed, Lara was facing hard times , both on the personal (health, love betrayal and breakup) and professional (her progress blocked in the US by her own record company) sides. Her fanbase knew it and wanted to show support and they used this song, her biggest hit, in France, but also in Russia and Eastern Europe, replacing the title” Je t’aime / I love you” by “On t’aime / We love you”. I love how Lara, after the initial surprise, establishes a beautiful dialog with the crowd, giving them room to sing with her. It shows how benevolent and humble she is. More information on Lara Fabian: Lara is recognized as one of the best vocalist ever seen on earth and all professionals list her in the top vocalist tier with Barbra, Whitney, Mariah, Celine, Lisa Fischer, .... In my personal opinion, she is even the best. There are a few vocal characteristics that are her signature: her famous resonance for instance that allows her to sing acapella without mic in venues with 8,000 attendees. Her nickname in the singing world is "the ring" due to this. I would also list her amazing phrasing, breath management and her pleasant tone even when belting in her upper register. So she is one of the best vocalist ever, but on top of that, she adds a few things that make her an absolute package with no equivalence: • she speaks 2 languages natively (french, italian), and 2 others fluently (english, spanish), can speak a bit of dutch (and sicilian), and understand quite well russian and portuguese. She has sung in 12 languages in total • she is an amazing songwriter and wrote lyrics for most her songs, in the 4 languages she speaks fluently. She often co-composes the music with the composer. • she acts and performs on stage as nobody else, she colors and reveals the meaning of every single word in the songs, and her ability to emote, to draw you in is second to none • she is the sweetest soul on earth, very humble, down to earth and benevolent. She likes to meet others, and her fans are always pleasantly surprised when this happens. A quick background on her and her career: She is belgian, her father is flemish, but also has italian roots (her mother is from sicilia) and American roots ( her grandfather is from Detroit). I don't know if an other commentary told you that. When Lara sing 'Je t'aime" (I love you), the audience say "On t'aime" (we love you). Lara had some times very difficults with a stupid intelligencia and a small part of french people. They said she's not sing but she's cry so mutch. On TV show their was some bads criticals also. Lara was affected by that. That you can see on this video is the answere of Lara fan's to thoses bads persons. Now you're really going to cry. Background story: Lara's boyfriend died and she wrote the song in memory of him. . She was considering ending her career as a result. This concert was in Paris. Before the show one of her fans handed out 6000 copies of the lyrics to the crowd then secretly told the pianist what was going to happen .
