Jean I'm quite a way into When No One is Watching and the mum's cancer is not really a theme. It's just the reason that she is not around in the sections I have read so far it's just mentioned like people asking Sydney can we talk to your mom etc?? Fully appreciate you wanting to put aside at the moment but make sure to pick it up again as soon as you can so you dont lose the momentum. Hugs for your dad's anniversary xx

Tbf I can always start from the beginning again :) even the tiniest mention of a parent with terminal cancer is triggering so I’d rather do that and read it at the right time.

I do the same thing with not finishing or delaying finishing TV series. For me, it is because so many times with TV series I loved, the last season or the finale has been hugely disappointing and sometimes just ruined the entire series for me to the point that I can't even rewatch any of it. I don't have the same hang up with books. Not sure why. Although I will definitely abandon book series after reading the first couple of books.

Bloodlust and Bonnets is amazing, one of my favourite graphic novels ever! Have you read Nimona? That's a favourite of mine too, along with The Encyclopedia of Early Earth and One Hundred Nights of Hero.

There are three shows I haven't watched the last episode of: Game of Thrones, Adventure Time and The Vampire Diaries. I will probably never watch them either. Based on what I heard their endings are not something I would like. I am also putting off finishing Discworld and A Series of Unfortunate Events, because I know I will be really sad once I'm done.
