I had this idea for a couple years. But I live in an apt complex. . The results are epic. Great job.

How has it held up so far? I'm thinking a out trying this without removing the fenders...
@midnightmodgarage77403 жыл бұрын
It held up GREAT! It was easy to clean despite the texture. It never felt too hot to the touch despite the heat. Any time it got rained on it looked almost like new again! Really one of the best, and most worth while modifications we have ever done.

Why not use spary can bed liner?

So I know it was mentioned in video about using the alcohol to clean the fenders, is a light sanding of fenders suggested?
@midnightmodgarage77403 жыл бұрын
We didn't bother since the plastic fenders are slightly textured already. As long as they're not gloss smooth and are really clean, the truck bed liner should adhere just fine.

1 more ? There's a dupli color bed coating and bed armor, do you suggest one over the other?
@midnightmodgarage77403 жыл бұрын
Well we used the bed coating. Which worked out perfectly. Except for the horrible fumes. After posting we had several suggestions that we "should have" used bed armour instead. So many people think very highly of the bed armour, but that's not what we used and it came out awesome!

Looks very nice, but since then how is the cleaning process? Seems like the roughness would trap more dirt and be hard to wash.
@midnightmodgarage77402 жыл бұрын
Thats sort of true. You would think that the texture would make it harder to clean. But once it's completely dry all it really takes is water with enough pressure to dislodge any dirt and it's done. Bugs and regular road dust come right off.

What bedliner did you use?
@midnightmodgarage77403 жыл бұрын
So we used the duplicolor truck bed liner we got at AutoZone in a 1 gallon size can. Since doing this project tho it has been recommended to us that we try the "Raptor" kit for truck bed lining, which AutoZone also sells. It's supposed to be very good and gets outstanding reviews but it's a little on the expensive side.

We used Duplicolor truck bed liner in a gallon can we got from AutoZone. The stuff goes a long long way. We actually ended up with a lot left over. Which is why we end up doing the entire hardtop using the same stuff .
