Tim wrote this before he joined Home Free. He was working at a company as a song writer and his boss told him he was going to have Tim do primarily country songs since Tim was just plain good at it. He tried to argue but his boss was pretty adamant that Tim needed to do country. Tim always said most of his success came from him finally getting out of his own way. LOL So he finally agreed, went home, got terribly drunk and wrote what he thought of as the most ridiculous country song ever, this song. He figured once he did that, everything else would come out fine. Not realizing that he had just wrote one of the more popular songs. He was then encouraged by his boss to record all of his own songs and put out a solo album. He thought that much of Tim's abilities. This song was on Tim's solo release of his cd "The Best That I Could Do". And yes, Rob is a master at whistling...Tim is not and freely admits to it. He admits that his whistling on his solo of this song is awful and if he performs it without Home Free, he always makes sure someone he is performing with can whistle. LOL Oh and about the dungaroos...they were later made into cutoff shorts for Buegs to wear in the Butts Medley. (Buegs was the one lone guy in the center of the background line dancing with them in that video) LOL

If you think this one is silly, you'll love Mississippi Squirrel Revival. It's an animated cover version of Ray Stevens original comedy song about a boy who caught a squirrel which got loose in a Church and caused a commotion. Realize there is a solemness in some Southern Churches .... Imagine a critter crawling up some high court judge's robe and watching his snootiness dancing like he stepped on a live wire behind the bench. Similar concept.

Thanks for the double feature. I will always love the original video back in 2014 the best. I think the words & visuals fit it much better. But I can understand that they wanted to change it up a bit in the new version. Still a lot of fun. Everyone sounded great as usual. Glad they kept in Rob's whistling.

Rob's whistling is wondrous! The story behind this song is hilarious: Many years ago Tim's employer told him to write a country song but he didn't want to. So he came up with the "worst" (his words) country song he could think of--and to this day it is one of his most popular originals 😆 #HomeFree

Well to be fair that last swig was lake water. Because he doesn't drink anymore, he had opened the can and dumped it out, then it became filled with lake water while shooting so he went with it.

They used non-alcoholic beer. If you look at the label, it says NA.
@lisaseverance67856 ай бұрын
@lrfcowper yes but even NA beer has a small amount of alcohol. My husband had to refrain from drinking alcohol due to a medication and that is what his doctor told him. A zero beer, however, is totally non alcoholic.
