WOW, Jennifer, what an awesome technique. You make it look easy, but I know how long each of the steps takes. The cards are absolutely beautiful. HUGS to Lila!!! I hope Santa has already started getting her gifts together, because she deserves so much.

I love the way your brain works! Thank you for doing the problem solving for us so that don’t have to experience the headaches of trial and error, but instead can move straight to the fun of making. I’m in this instance thinking about the brilliance of using the vellum to accurately align the dies to the stamped images for the dimensional element of the card. Who else so easily figures out how to do these things? Thank you, Jennifer!

Its always interesting to see how many different ways we can create the same look/technique. When I make these, I stamp onto both cards, and use that as the guide when die cutting, knowing that its in exactly the same place. Thanks for sharing your way too! :)

Perfect timing on teaching me this technique. As usual, I'm running behind in my Christmas cards, so I decided to use the same focal image on many of them & change them up by using different colors and sentiments because I try to make each card be unique. Now, you have given me a way to create even more variations on the cards that I'm rushing to complete. Thank you for sharing!

If you keep the stamps in the misti you can use a light ink to stamp onto the overlay and line the dies up that way. Just another idea for those who don't have vellum! Thanks for inspiring me Jennifer!
@terryeggen13037 жыл бұрын
Jennifer this is an amazing card. I would never have thought to use vellum to create the top overlay. You think of the coolest things.
@honbun1007 жыл бұрын
You could use the Misti to stamp your image on both the card base and the panel. Emboss both and then cut the embossed image from the panel. You don’t need any vellum that way and you have a die cut embossed image left over for another card! The negative space on the panel from which you die cut the image should be in perfect position since you used the Misti

Jennifer this is a really interesting technique that you showed. I love the effect of the main image being recessed. At first I didn't know what it was but I could see it was different. Then I realized what you were getting at. It is pretty. and does give dimension. Jennifer what causes an embossed image to pebble. I mean is it the embossing powder or is it something else I'm doing that's wrong. What causes that pebbled effect. ....do you know Jennifer. I was using a glossy card stock.. Thanks for any help you can suggest...... pat

Jennifer, I always see you layering your thinly cut word dies and you just pop them straight on with no problem. I have tried this SO many times and it's been a miserable failure. I've used 3 different types of glue but before I can get them lined up, the glue has dried and now I tear the stacked word trying to get them to line up like you do. Do you have a secret you can share on how you are able to do this?

I was having the same issue too Carol! Then I saw another crafter take a small strip of scrap paper (say about 2 to 3" long) and temporarily tape about the last 1/2" of it to the backside of the sentiment, kinda like a holder. I tried it and it works like a charm! Happy Crafting Carol!

Beautiful cards! How do you keep your jewel picker sticky? Mine won’t pick up anything 🤔
@racheljolley263527 жыл бұрын
Marilyn Martin have you given it a good rinse under the tap, that should do it?
@whoooami20907 жыл бұрын
Rachel Jolley great! I’ll give that a try, thanks!
@NancyLynn7 жыл бұрын
Hey Marilyn...to regain its adhesion, just roll the tip on adhesive tape. This will pick up any dust and oils on the tip. If the tip loses it tackiness completely and using the adhesive tape to remove it does not work, then use an ultra fine sandpaper to rub off any dust and objects. Hope this helps Marilyn and happy crafting!
