The finale! FUN FACT!!!!!!!!! Every episode of season 8 is named after an epic line from season 1! I'm so emo. What this show does very well is the showcasing of Defan brotherly love and relationship... after all, the bond of family is what truly matters on this show. All characters have lost someone and the found family trope is where it's at for them. I find that so beautiful. Steroline reunion made my heart singggggggg. Alaric truly is an amazing character and human being. Thank you for all your comments, Jer! ♥ I can't believe we only have 2 weeks left worth of TVD... I know you're moving on to the Originals, but I heavily dislike most characters there, but I'll still watch for you. There are some good moments there, too.

The confrontation between Damon and Stefan on getting their hands dirty "the end justifies the means" is yet another exchange of principles that Stefan likes to remember and reiterate to his brother, but in the end it is Damon for the umpteenth time doing what he knows how to do better that is "sacrifice", Stefan is not the real martyr but Damon between the two brothers, who always has the courage to do what needs to be done, trying to spare his brother unnecessary guilt, remorse and suffering. But despite everything Damon finally gave him a nice speech to Stefan to let him go and detach a little from him because in reality the one who is afraid is Stefan, he talks about Damon's fear but when he does everything to save his brother he doesn't acts and reacts out of fear 😏 sure that Damon loving Elena as an equal to his brother is afraid of losing both and disappointing both or who he loves there is nothing wrong with it is a very human thing fear .... but their heart embrace all I care about is remembering the Defan that I love.

@@hali_55 In fact, I also wondered this to myself until I see that the speech is always made Stefan good brother and Damon bad brother that Stefan sacrificed for Damon everything instead Damon looked to the stars when in reality both found themselves sacrificing one for the other but there is a difference while Stefan always blames what he did to his brother and criticizes him, Damon every time he did something for his brother never reproached him. He always makes himself the martyr Stefan and the hero Stefan ma.qua in reality everyone criticizes Damon but in the end it is Damon who saves everyone and what or nothing if it were not for Bonnie who said a thank you no one thanks him. Stefan can only preach and moralist, he abandoned everyone but Stefan never wondered the fuck I put all the blame on my brother and I made sure that he made this decision from the beginning of the season that "it's Damon's fault. for everything "even when it wasn't. So actually I meant this and not who sacrifices the most or not.

Finally someone did speak REASON. I hate to say it but Stefan's fans or specifically Stelen's fans who still hold a beef towards the guy for Elena choosing him as if Damon hadn't tried to avoid his feelings alot and even pushed her to his brother but they still don't see the DAMN DIFFERENCE Damon sacrifices with no remorse, no payback waiting, no saving and begging and resentment meanwhile Stefan always blames, resents, whines and preach back. I get that being the little brother sees sacrificing for the older one as a debt more than a responsibility but Stefan pushes it to the extreme sometimes though

This finale was so good! I’m really glad that Steroline got back together, and I’m glad Alaric let Caroline go so she could be happy. Stefan and Damon have the best moments. That talk they had before Damon went into the vault was so necessary. I’m glad Damon made Stefan let him do this on his own and made him realize that he sacrifices himself to much for Damon. I love that they save each other all the time, but there’s a point where Stefan can’t stop himself from doing it even if it’s a detriment to himself. I feel so bad for Damon and Bonnie this episode. Damon, because he finally succeeded at doing something important and good, after everything that’s happened this entire season, and he immediately gets kidnapped and possessed. Like damn, he’s got bad luck. And Bonnie just lost the two people she cares about the most and is suffering again! Damon and Enzo are always imprisoned together. Their relationship is literally just always going through the worst stuff together as a team, which is kind of sad, lol. The last few seconds of this episode are so chilling! By the way, Nina actually came back to record her voice for this episode, and Damon’s face when he heard Elena’s voice was 😍

I think the reason everyone loved Enzo is because he is so sweet and caring and has these similar traits that Stefan has, but also has the ‘bad boy’ look that Damon has, which is a must in teen dramas. He’s ‘broken’ enough that it’s intriguing and he can be ‘fixed’ by his love interest, but not too damaged where he acts like a psycho or is controlling etc

Obviously seeing Delena's flashbacks was something extraordinary and just hearing her voice makes us understand how much and in any case despite the criticism of this character her absence was felt a lot. I really love that despite her physical absence they kept her "present" through and especially Damon. Missing their moments, their passion, their discussions, confrontation, their unconditional love regardless of everything and regardless of everything this couple has had to go through. I can’t believe you’re starting the last season already! It feels like just yesterday that you started watching the series. I really like season 8. It’s definitely better than season 7 as a whole. I do think it’s the most depressing season though. Not that there’s not plenty of happy moments as well, but they really put all the characters through the ringer. Most of the things that happen this season I think make perfect sense with the way this show is. This season feels very nostalgic as well. There’s so many amazing relationship and character moments to look forward to in this final batch of episodes! The series finale is one of my favorites in any show that I’ve watched. They really hit it out of the park. It’s the perfect amount of happy and sad. By the way, the episode titles for season 8 are all quotes from the first season of the show.

I really feared for Enzo I thought that Damon couldn't succeed with that damn lighter, I loved and no Enzo I think they could give him already from season 5 a story with Bonnie instead of making him "I don't know which side to be on" and therefore a second useless Matt Donovan but on the other hand they gave him crazy character growth after more than 70 years in prison and how Damon through Bonnie found meaning in his life and a reason why his life deserves to live and be better.

Honestly, Ric and Caroline's relationship gets SO much hate but I think it's SO cute and realistic, they both may not be sexually attracted to each other but they got attracted to their each other's company and their sense of family especially Ric. To me his feelings is completely justified, Caroline is NOT his student anymore but the mother of his children! they respect each other and love each other's existance in their lives and I think it's so pure..it shows that Love can be in all forms!

Stefan yet another moralistic speech to Damon before joining Armory about the difference between the two of them 😩; the impulsive brother and the farsighted one, the bad boy who eventually saves himself in a corner by doing the right thing and the moralist who always feels obliged to express his opinion on everyone and everything. After this umpteenth pappardella about letting oneself be conditioned by fear or love, he still lets Damon "sacrifice himself" and when the damage is done he writes in his diary that the fault is all his own. An eternal cycle of self-pity that has really tired. Because in every situation one must always lay the blame and play the martyr's card, when it is a stretch and does not hold up! 🤷‍♀️ ... blaming yourself for how the situation ended is certainly not a solution ..

Couple things. Alaric letting Caroline go is such a great scene. As weird as that “relationship” was I think that scene makes it’s so clear as to why it existed at all and why they stuck together. While Matt has been annoying all season that scene with Penny GUTS me. You just see a broken man who has lost so much and just wants better for his own life and his home and he is at the end of his rope so much so to the point where he just wants to die and be with his love. Ugh the “please take me with you” is so heartbreaking

I really didn't expect you to get so emotional about this episode. For me this is the most underwhelming season finale of this show by far, also probably the only tvd season finale where I don't say 'amazing'. And the reason for that is that I honestly always forget what even happens in this finale. I mean, when I watch this reaction I do recognize scenes and plots, but if I haven't watched a reaction or the episode itself for a while, I can't tell you what happens (the only thing I remember is the end with Damon and Enzo in that vault). That happens with none of the other tvd season finales and I don't actually understand it, while watching the reaction I do see a lot of scenes I love (Steroline, Bonenzo, Defan), but I still forget about all of these 🙈🙈🙈
