Journal of Discourses is not LDS canonized scripture (Bible, Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants and Pearl of Great Price) nor official doctrine of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The Journal of Discourses is not an official publication of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It is a collection of sermons, speeches given for a variety occasions, funeral addresses, reports from returning missionaries, prayers, and other materials from the early years of the Church, which were transcribed and then published. It includes some doctrinal instruction but also practical teachings, some of which are speculative in nature and some of which are only of historical interest. The Journal of Discourses was produced under the guidance of those who transcribed the materials, including George D. Watt, David W. Evans, and George W. Gibbs. Prophets, Apostles, and Leaders of the past may have said somethings that may have been misquoted, misunderstood, transcribed incorrectly, taken out of context, conscientiously, unintentionally, or maliciously added to or incorrect things said about that person. I never claimed I never knew about these things. I’ve been hearing these LIES for the last 40+ years. Much of these LIES has been circulated and recirculated by the ANTIs from the beginnings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Most have been debunked. There are many videos that address a lot of these LIES. As I’ve stated, ANTIs DON’T get to define what the beliefs, doctrine and teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are. We haven’t been teaching these LIEs for the last 190+ years. That’s a LIE. Can you show us the sources from the OFFICIAL canonized scriptures (Bible, Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, and Pearl of Great Price) and from our OFFICIAL study manuals of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints that show that we’ve been teaching these supposed doctrines in our Sunday School classes, in our Seminary Classes, in our Adult Institute Classes, etc. No, because most of what’s in this video are LIES. We can look at a specific situation that shows us ancient Christians did lose some truths after the death of the Apostles and that after the death of the Apostles heretics and false doctrine were inevitable. Paul described the Lord's Church as built upon a foundation of apostles and prophets with Christ as the chief corner stone. Peter, James and John were the first presidency and the central authority laid upon them. (Who's today's First Presidency?) In Mark 3 Christ chose and ordained his apostles with the laying on of hands to preach. (Who's today's Apostles?) In Luke 10 Christ chose another 70 to serve as The Seventy. (Who's today's Seventy?) In Acts 6 the Apostles through continuing revelation called 7 assistants to be the Presidency of the Seventy. (Who's today's Presidency of the Seventy?) In Acts 9 Christ calls Saul to be an Apostle, Apostles don't call Apostles, with Christ as the chief corner stone He always chose who the Apostles were. Paul was not defined an Apostle until after the laying on of hands. (Which Apostle laid his hands on Linus?) It was always plain clear to me we existed before we came to earth, at The Council of Nicaea more Bishops opposed pre-mortal life so pre-mortal life was automatically labelled heresy, today's Christianity was established through political votes, "most wins", that includes the Trinity, and not Revelation from God. He was baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in August 1975. Later in August 1975, he was arrested and in February of 1976, he was convicted of kidnapping and was 2 serve up to a 15-years in prison. After the conviction, he was excommunicated by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. By this time, he was on the top list of several police departments in Washington, Oregon, Utah, Colorado, etc., but no one had hard evidence to convict him of the murder crimes of young girls and young women in the Western States until later in 1976, Colorado had found enough hard evidence to convict Ted Bundy of murder. He was extradited to Colorado where he later escaped and found his way to Florida (continuing on with his serial killing spree. He was later captured in Florida, went to Trial for the murder of several women there and was finally executed in 1989 after several stays of execution. So, Ted Bundy was a member for less than a month before he was arrested in Utah.

That still makes Smith a notorious fraud--the entire premise for this discussion. Even if we were to dismiss the second hand accounts of Smith's vision, the four that Smith either wrote or dictated have some glaring inconsistencies. It's less about the wording between the different accounts of Smith's 'first vision' and more about the conflicting details in each retelling, like the personages that supposedly appeared before him. Smith also made the opposite claim that this would happen by 1891 in history of the church volume 2. You can argue over what the church recognizes as an official prophecy all you want, but saying something to the effect of "the lord is coming in 1891" fits the literal definition of a prophecy, or in this case, an attempt at such. I think it's safe to assume that he wasn't referring to a temple in Ohio, when he specifically stated Western Missouri as the location. Also, what's the point of having a prophecy, if god is just going to claim a mulligan and require a subsequent prophecy to fix the first one? You're only making my case stronger and underscoring how little credibility Smith had regarding divine revelation. As for the book of Abraham, Joseph Smith made copies of facsimiles 2 and 3 along with his translations. You don't need the originals to see that Smith had no idea what he was doing when he claimed to be translating from the papyri. There was never any evidence of additional scrolls beyond that. This ridiculous idea is simply grasping at straws. Even if there were additional scrolls, you can see Smith's own handwritten notes which correlate his mistranslations of facsimiles 1, 2, and 3 into the book of Abraham. I do look at both sides of an argument, and I would assume most people do. However, the facts and logic make it plain to see that Smith was a liar and a fraud.

Besides, there is no requirement that a prophet must be perfect. And that also works for the different accounts. Paul's accounts of his meeting with Christ on the road to Damascus are all a little different, but that doesn't seem to bother anyone. History of the Church is made up of journals of those who were somewhat close to Joseph. So that account is a little dubious. The D&C is more reliable.

Definitely fiction.. The people who made this video literally named it “Banned Mormon Video.” This video was not made by Mormons nor was it ‘banned’ from anywhere lmfao..Its clickbait.. It’s meant to be a parody of some sorts. This video hints at some Mormon beliefs but then twists them around and adds a shit load of untrue stuff to make it seem even more wacky.
