Fifth Gear

Жыл бұрын

In this series, produced by Chrysalis Entertainment in 2002, which later became part of the production company that makes Fifth Gear, Jeremy Clarkson drives a 1960s Jaguar E-Type around six European countries to discover just how different their lifestyles are to those in Britain, and whether the reality matches the stereotypical perception of each country. In this episode, Jeremy finds out why Belgians don't like being Belgian and why the brothel culture in the Netherlands is drowning in regulation. Make sure you're subscribed to be the first to see the other episodes.

I sure haven't heard a Dutch person ever talk like this... You probably mean the Germans, who can't pronounce the "sch" in Dutch words and names, so they pronounce it as "sh". ;)

When the E type lost oil pressure and water in the 1st series, I thought the head gasket may have gone? Lovely retro Jags as the Renault dealership. I used to have Daimlers. Still really miss one of them. More temperamental and high maintenance, the older they are, usually.

This is probably from the 1990s. Wim Kok, Prime-Minister from1994 to 2002, did indeed go camping for his holiday. I don't see Balkenende and Rutte do so though.

With the opening strains of Moby's Play wafting over the scene of the glorious E-type's arrival, I am recalled to the masterful music direction that Top Gear enjoyed for most of its early seasons, and I wonder, was this some friend or associate of Clarkson's which accompanied him through multiple projects?

My mom is Dutch and my dad Belgian. My mom always says, think twice before marrying a Belgian. hahaha. They love eachother to dead, but my dad is an intelligent mess, who doesn't seems to grow up and my mom super organized. My dad can't drive, he thinks he's a rally pilot and trafic signs are just street decoration. My mom always complains about how Belgians drive. He's the best dad i can wish for. When other woman look at my dad, my mom gets super jealous,. My parents are so hilarious. 😂😂

5:00 Jezza, if you dont smoke a pipe then you couldn't understand. The rest of the video I found very interesting apart from chirping birds but I got state here and now that the best bit was the E-Type with its beautiful lines and a decent set of tyres that are much more than a coating of rubber on a rim. Thanks mate.
