I can hold a plank for a minute but the problem is my body starts shivering like I'm in Antartica without my warm clothes

I go for about 2 minutes and I’m the same way. As far as I know it’s from tightening your muscles which is what a workout is supposed to do, which means you’re doing it right. Keep it up! Just don’t overdue it and strain a muscle. That’ll cause more harm than good.

You are over weight or very weak core strength. My weight was 231lbs, i was shaking like crazy but after losing 40lbs, I'm not shaking and more stable

Shoulders above elbows as well. You can make plenty of gains off of a plank based workout if you know what your doing.

He is absolutely correct in tucking your pelvis and proper spinal alignment. But you need to pull your elbows to your toes and pull your toes to your elbows to activate properly. Try it and feel how much more engaged the chain is. It's a good feeling. 🔗🙏

I realized I had been relying on my very flexible back the other day but had no clue how to fix it. Like another commenter, I've gone from being able to hold a plank for a minute to 5 seconds. I can't do plank leg lifts anymore bc my back isn't taking the brunt. This is awesome. I'm gonna hurt so much from this. The good hurt.

I wasn't straightening my legs before hand which left some strain on my lower back, fixing that helped engage my core more and got rid of that paid, although my elbows hurt driving them into a mat, impressed your doing it with just the floor.

I actually just tried it while incorporating all of these tips adding in one at a time and I see now that I finally am doing the plank correctly! I never got them right before and I knew that but I never knew what exactly I was doing wrong. It was that squeeze the legs and follow with the glutes that really made all the difference in my case. Thank You SO MUCH Omgosh I can’t thank you enough!!

I am actually attempting the world record for most rubik's cubes solved while holding an abdominal plank position later this year. I need to raise my plank time from 2 minutes to around 5 minutes. Thank you
