Can we all agree that Jerry's solo work is criminally underrated?

No, we can't - from what I've heard, his work is very generic & lacklustre.

Another Legend that still makes great music while maintaining musical integrity!
@felipestenzel70762 ай бұрын
Yeah! I was thinking about this a couple of days ago. Jerry is one of the few who can still bring something new without losing his roots. Everyone else is experimenting with new sounds, like Pearl Jam. I mean, there’s nothing wrong with trying new things, but man… listening to an album like this feels like going back to the '90s, that magical era. I have no words to describe it. Thank you, Jerry Cantrell.
@iriefire66092 ай бұрын
@@felipestenzel7076 I think the sound has still evolved, but to me, it doesn’t sound overproduced or like he is trying to change his sound to stay relevant, which is what I meant by the musical integrity. I also think Pearl Jam have maintained this as well. They have been experimental over the years with their sound but, to me, they still maintaining it on their terms and not changing it up to stay relevant. from a musician standpoint I understand and respect artists/bands wanting to change or evolve their sound for whatever reason, even to stay relevant (it is a job after all and a tough one to have a career in) but sometimes from the fan perspective it doesn’t always land. But these guys and others still carry the torch strong!

I love Jerry! Don't get me wrong, I loved LS , if had not died JC probably would not have come to the forefront as a strong lead singer and put out some beautiful melodic tunes and made some hellacious rock riffs. I think God has his reasons for taking those as to let others behind them to do somethimg just as beautiful but slightly different. I believe everthing is for a reason.

I remember clearly coming up to shake your hand and telling you that you are one of my favourite and most influential guitarists after the gig you did with AiC in Brisbane Australia back in the 90s. Suicidal Tendencies was supporting that night and it was an amazing gig. Loving the new stuff from you weather it's the solo stuff or with AiC, it's all great, particularly in this age when bands are very absent from the top 20 music charts.
