I am a handicapped Vet. After 3 years in a hospital bed, wheelchair, walker and cane, I built a trike. 24 inch, 1000 watt motor. I can get to the garage, I can take the Trike to the store, shop and come home. All without getting out if the saddle. I then started a project to build the trikes AT MY COST for other folks trapped in their house. I applaud your efforts to do this. I live ALONE with only my Service Dog and was depressed until I did this. I just wanted to help others in my situation. It was like being released from prison! I am thankful every day for learning how to do this. I am not depressed anymore!

I'm stuck in my body that doesn't work anymore. I will not lie to say I'm living, I can't do what my brain wants to do. I use to design cool things. I once 4 years ago took a water pump from a old Walmart swimming pool and took a DC motor from a cordless vacuum cleaner and joined them together and made a DC to ac generator that put out a staggering 680 plus volts according to my electric tester right before I melted the wires on tester and the plastic driveshaft that I had on them. After 3 minutes the driveshaft blew apart and luckily I was wearing my lucky safety tee shirt to protect me from the pieces. I pulled plastic out from my chest and face for 15 minutes. But I was ok. I keep thinking, if I made a better driveshaft an installed it onto an all electric vehicle, you never need to charge it because you can flip a switch and it can recharge itself and it can recharge its own 22 volt DC battery that gives it power to make real electricity. Think about it, it's all true. I can't do hardly anything anymore but tell others how they can build really cool stuff like I built in my past. It would be really cool having one of these but I can't afford it and my insurance won't pay for it since it's not a electric wheelchair. My health went down hill overnight after I talked with my cousin about building free energy motors that will power your entire home and never have another electric bill ever again. Be totally off grid. An my cousin still remembers seeing it running an powering my 3 phase machines in my shop that I had 15 years ago. But looking back knowing what I know now, those guys who visited me , I don't think they were actually from my local power company. They told me I broke every law of physics and I told them that law is a lie that they taught us in school and I showed them how easily I broke it. That same night, my life changed. I lost everything just because I was thinking about giving my motor free to the world. I sent musk a message telling him I can design a charging system for his all electric vehicles so the owners never have to plug them in to recharge. He or someone replied back to me saying no thanks, the car company made a deal with someone that they won't do anything like that. Apparently they already knew how to build it. It's nice knowing that there are other people like me here that are smarter than the average people. Share the Love, that's the true key if you didn't know it. Love is the glue that holds everything together in our Universe.

Though all these things that the bike cant do can be overcame with a good engineering team and optimisation with materials and reduce weight and cost. I have many amelioration already blatant i could do on that electric vehicle like making the tires use not rubber but a plastic variant that requires no inflation and resistant to flat tire as used on mars rovers. Alot of other things but it would he too long to list them all, but they would make the cost and effectiveness even better than actual legs in all terrain.

I've never actually commented on any KZbin video before, but I have to say something about this. My 12 year old daughter has spina bifida and is paralyzed from the waste down. She also has severe scoliosis and is currently scheduled for a total spine fusion next year. I can't even begin to emphasis how hard it is to just find the necessary medical equipment. It took over a year just to get a new wheelchair to replace the broken down one she was using. However, it's always been bittersweet because we know how limited she still is in where she can go. We also know there is no way we could ever afford an actual off-road wheelchair. This is amazing and it gives us something to try to start saving for going forward. Hoping to see her riding around in one off these in the future. Thank you for putting your expertise to work in a beneficial way.

A few thoughts for version 2. These are some expensive suggestions so maybe they could come as extras... 1. 4wd or just front wheel drive as both are safer and it won't struggle so much in soft soil 2. If you can turn all 4 wheels at low speeds, it makes a huge difference in the turning circle radius, so it could even handle narrow corners. 3. One handed control. 4. Recuperative braking 5. Adjustable tire pressure with a compressor and tricky valves connected at the hubs or manually. Deflate if you want more contact area and inflate for flat road so it consumes less energy and makes even less noise... This could mean too much tech, but nothing an arduino and some sensors can't handle. Keep up the good work!

Great, but still there's a lot of stuff to add to meet all of those safety requirements. Also, if the seat isn't connecting to the frame only at the "point of weight furthest to the back" (beneath the back support), that could be done in order for the total point of weight to be as close to the middle of the vehicle as possible. This could help traction. Perhaps even a rotatable seat for moving in and out of the vehicle?
@standapp91723 жыл бұрын
@@haliaeetus8221 The batteries are placed behind the seat and close to the ground. They are really heavy, so the center of mass should be pretty centered, even without additional payload. The swivel chair is a good idea but it will introduce more weight for a robust mechanism, so it'll be interesting to see if it can be implemented without tradeoffs in terms of efficiency - range.

What a beautiful story that’s just beginning. I do not claim to understand the full hardship of a person confined to a chair but I did spend 3 months in one. It opened my eyes to the hardships. You two are doing a wonderful thing. Now,,,, I come from the automotive industry and have been building things on 4 and 2 wheels for 40 years. This base model is perfect for some. But independent suspension and all wheel drive is a must for those who can afford it. The other thing I would mention is a seat that has a suspension of sorts to absorb vibration, it’s invaluable for the owners back. Thanks and I want to wish you good luck but you got this. P.s, your wife is absolutely beautiful. I wish the best to both of you. God bless and good luck.

Solar / photovoltaic cells are not as effective as people are lead to believe sadly espically for recharging large yield battery arrays like this has depending on the Mah or miliamps per hour as well as the composition of said battery's the size of the solar array needed to effectively and quickly recharge would be quite sizeable and not remotly cost effective
