We'll for me I think you should go caseless because like you said earlier that companies spend alot , like tons of time to design a beautiful phone and you just pop a case on it making it bulky, and it depends on the user . If you go caseless and you're not clumsy to make your phone fall on a concrete (or anything that can make it break) in a long period of time , you'll become more responsible and cautious not only to your phone but to anything that is very expensive, and that is a good sign because you'll become confident enough to handle things that are really important in your life. So yea thats my opinion why you should go caseless xD. Hope you have a nice day!

Big brain idea: Stick a case when you go out, when not using the phone or when you're up to star walking, remove it when you're stationary or when you're certainly sure the environment or situation is safe. I'll get to answering messages in my own time. I check for messages every few hours (or more frequently at times if I am expecting something). And the phone I've used for the last 5 years has been naked with no screen protector nor case, and somehow it has never been dropped. I am very much into outdoor activities where there are plenty of risk if the phone get dropped, and find the idea of purpose built rugged phone appealing.. but the only time I end up with a case, is when got one of those extended battery that comes with a case (I used to have one on an old phone). Came to this video because I finally decided to get a new phone, and it is this time every 5 or so years when I am asking myself, should I? Or shouldn't I.. but overall, I am actually kinda surprised to hear that some many people do use cases.

I have been using cases for a long while, but I'm generally pretty careful and even with the occasional drop, the last phone screen I broke was 8 years ago (first and only time). My Pixel 4 XL just died (not dropped, just stopped turning on) so I'm replacing it with a Pixel 7a, but I think this time I'm going to try going caseless again for the first time in awhile! I think it really is a lot better to be mindful about when you're using your phone, and not be whipping it out all the damn time. Being caseless will really give you a good reason to be mindful! Wish me luck!

Worth considering is how hard Apple has been working lately to make their phones less fragile, and if you buy Apple Care +, you are gambling even less. Why make your phone worse with a case that cost $15 or more while screen replacement is just $29? It's worse if the back cracks, but IMO a case on a phone as tough as the iPhone 12 is unnecessary especially if you bought Apple Care plus

This is mostly marketing BS frankly. Glass is glass. Although it is true that in the last five or six years or so, glasses much stronger than most common metals on a flagship smartphone. So it's much more secure against scratching usually, but dropping a piece of glass is still very dangerous. Not much r&d can be done because you're either going to increase the durability of a drop and decrease The scratch resistance or vice versa.

I've dropped two different phones with Samsung cases, and had two expensive screen repairs. My phones often go flying, my hands are small, the phones are big, women carry them around more than men because of the pocket situation. My dogs and cats have knocked them somersaulting across the room, I've stood on them after forgetting them on the ground next to me, and of course the phone snatcher situation on the pavement wondering where your lift is. Now I slap a UAG Plasma on, purchased before I've even gotten the new phone. I do have more cases than phones though - those I couldn't resist. But there is nothing to beat taking the case off - it feels and looks like you have a brand new phone, even though it's a good few years old, you can't believe how slim, sleek and shiny it is!

My personal feeling is that any phone that requires a case for normal use is a flawed design and shouldn't be purchased or used. Buy something more durable instead of trying to make a flimsy item less flimsy.

Honestly, this is the 4th time im watchig this video. To me, the only reason i use a case is the slippery matte edges of my Vivo X70 Pro. it has a slim body and curved amoled panel, so to hold the thing without a case is a slippery experience and... frankly, ecstasy. It feels amazing. Please make another video like this. Very few talk about this topic!

Apple was charging $60 for the genuine leather genuine iPhone case in their stores or at least they were before discontinuing them. It does make the phone nice and grippy and a lot less likely to slip out of your hand. It also looks and feels like a quality piece of kit. Call it not so cheap but very nice insurance.

If people would actually be careful with their phone, I have friends who drop their phones all the time. I love using my phone without a case. It feels better and you get to experience the feeling of the phone the way the manufacturer intended it to.

I wouldn't call myself clumsy but I have dropped my phone a few times over the years. Mostly with a case on it and it saved the phones. If my phone got damaged during one of those I would have been upset but maybe that is what I need to just get over worrying about it. Its like getting your first scratch on a new car. Once it happens there is nothing you can do to prevent more.
@oneminutewonder773 жыл бұрын
@@JerrySchulze I mean cases have a purpose, but I think what a lot of people need to realize is that you probably shouldn't be using your 1000 dollar glass phone while walking through areas they are likely to drop it. I see people walking without looking all the time. You wouldn't risk dropping the device if you were looking where you were going.

For some reason, my phone falls more often when its caseless! Or maybe its that I'm not as attuned to my phone when its in a case? Either way, I use cases on my iphone xs for aesthetic purposes first, and safety second.

Jerry Schulze yes just once I have owned iPhones since the 4. I broke the screen one time on a freak accident and with Apple care it was 30 dollars to repair. But that’s the same as many cases since then I have been accident free also now knocking on wood haha.
@JerrySchulze4 жыл бұрын
Haha that sucks. I have pretty much had a case on every phone since the original iPhone, but I usually buy multiple cases per phone just to change things up. Probably not saving any money.

I go careless except for Extended Pokemon Go sessions where I use a smart battery case for my iPhone XR. Just taking some care and mindfulness when using your phone makes can do wonders. I do have AppleCare plus for an accident just for peace of mind, but it is well worth it for the extended support I can get too if needed.

I just wish more cases gave you access to the physical buttons. I don’t like the case buttons generally. Usually if I have the phone more than two years I’ll go caseless but always rock a screen protector. Right now I have the iPhone 12 Pro Max, and it’s so big I really want to go caseless.
@JerrySchulze3 жыл бұрын
I like a case because I can set a phony down on the desk or table and not worry about scratches. And many cases add more grip but the added bulk does suck.
@-1lovethesea3 жыл бұрын
Going caseless ruined my phone and now I don’t hear the caller and neither do they hear me if the phone is used without the headphones. if you moisturize your hands and face then protect your phone with a case. The lotion and oils from skin will get inside the phone and clog it.

So i bought my first iphone in 2010, the iphone 4. Used it for 3 years, without a case and screen protector. Despite having some scratches, i never dropped it, not even once. 2013, bought the iphone 5s and had been using that for 3 years without a case and screen protector. It had a few micro scratches, but again, never dropped it. 2016 bought the iphone 7 plus, and it has the same story as the 4 and 5s. Now i have the iphone 11 for almost 4 years, and again, same story as the 4, 5s, and 7 plus. Moral of the story: i'm just not that clumsy, and i take care of my stuff. It's mostly because i don't like the feel of a bulky case and they can smell really bad.

I personally have a case and screen protector on my iPhone 12, had it on my 7 and xs aswell. I sold the xs and 7 for good money. If you want to Get Any money for your phone when selling it later on, then protect it! It’s tempting to go caseless, but honestly... the satisfaction of pulling out a 2-3 year old phone that still looks brand new is just too good to let go. The new iPhones can’t really be repaired at second hand shops, it will have a pop-up message that says that it can’t verify that the screen is original. You have to pay extra at apple to get a screen replacement.
