I like the mention of not being able to truly express oneself despite people around you claiming they’ve accepted you. It’s one of the reasons I hate the word acceptance. Makes me feel like idk, my presence is being put on stand like a court preceding.

Yes, I feel the same way. Acceptance sounds nice at first, but it only means that the person isn't actively working against them. Respect is what everyone should have. Acceptance is that you can tolerate something negative and that's not what we should be aiming for, that's the lowest bar there is
