Who goes anywhere without their cards? She hasn’t got her cards, but she’s got her telephone

She's probably got her card information stored on her phone, and thus felt that carrying the physical card would be redundant. But she should still be carrying it, in case the digital copy is unusable for some reason e.g. dead phone battery.

I'll be honest, I'd never even considered that somebody could have time to shower in that little window lol. For me it's only just enough time to head back and pack up my stuff; I shower the night before so my travel toiletries have time to dry them out before I pack them up. But to each their own, and I suppose I could see how that could make sense for one of those people who can take fast showers. But for me one of the best things about being in a hotel is that you can shower for an hour and never run out of hot water! I do love hotel showers... I may be rambling lol.

This is one where we’re gonna have to disagree. Breakfast should be served much later than 10 AM especially at a hotel because people are on vacation and sleeping in.
@JaniceinOR17 күн бұрын
Sometimes people on vacation get up early to go fishing or take a long hike during daylight. Others may be at the hotel on a business trip and need to leave by 7:30 to get to a business meeting. The hotel will have higher expenses (more wages, possibly more spoilage, more people eating twice) if they keep the free breakfast available for a longer period. So, if they make the breakfast end later, the hotel will probably either start breakfast time later (meaning others get no breakfast before they leave) or charge more for the rooms. You have many options: book a hotel that keeps breakfast going later, have one person in your party get up & grab food for everyone, pay for your meal and have it when you want, bring your own breakfast food.

In the US of A I only remember two hotels that had something that was worth the name, and only on one of them it was buffet style and included, the other had me go through the whole "Good morning Sir, how are you Sir, please wait to be seated Sir, here's your menu Sir, are you ready to order Sir" spiel ... until I figured out that one of the staff was actually from northern German like me, so that we could shorten that down to "Moin, wie immer" -> "Moin, ja bitte" The worst I remember was the one in the bay area that even advertised their "Breakfast buffet with rich variety of bread" (or similar) which turned out to be just a small table with one sort of cheese, one sort of sliced sausage, butter, milk, two kinds of cereal, and three different kinds of toast ... all still in original store package. That "rich variety of bread" must have been the worst insult to the German me so far. We don't even really consider toast being actual bread. And even the most cheap places I stayed at here in Germany (or actually all of Europe so far) had better breakfast buffets than that. Canada on the other hand felt much more like Europe than the US of A in that respect :)
