@SN120237 жыл бұрын
Yeah most women have to be put through it, but we never know if men in the music industry have to do the same as women. I mean for all we know men have to drop their pants too. We've only had Kesha and now Jessie come out about this, That I know of at least.people in the music industry are lonely people who can't get a girlfriend to help them. If they do they have some sick mind to either have someone who wants to just make music, suck the producer off or sell their bodies for gigs
@tas199217 жыл бұрын
I think women period, not just in the music industry. That's what I took away from it anyway
@callies89077 жыл бұрын
While abuse of men might happen, the reality is that the "gatekeepers" (i.e., producers and higher-ups within the industry) are overwhelmingly straight men, making young women the overwhelming victims of this phenomenon. And if you give straight men a lot of money and power over young women, this kind of abuse the inevitable result because of hypersexualization and objectification of women's bodies and value. It doesn't matter if they have girlfriends or wives--it's more about power and control than it is sexual gratification. And it's absolutely 100% about the music industry--she makes specific references to trying to make it in the music industry and being told in order to make it she has to sleep with the higher ups. Although this song is particular to the music industry, the phenomenon is common elsewhere as well, because men are gross.

I think it's intriguing that the deeper, more malignant voice says the "left" and "right" on opposite sides when listening in earbuds. Her voice, however says it on the actual side ("left" is heard on the left, "right" on the right). It juxtaposes good and evil, self and opposition, etc. I think it's amazing that they took the time to have that battle going on in the ears.

Burned him back in the best way

It's not just in the entertainment industry, this is how the WHOLE world functions. It makes me want to end my life before it has a chance to get any worse. But at least the whole Weinstein being exposed thing is a step in the right direction. Women need to stop eating up the lie they've been told by third wave feminism that objectifying yourself is empowerment. I'm fucking irate.
@synchronicity89476 жыл бұрын
As women, I think deep down we all know the kind of sex we want to be having, and 99.9% of what you see in porn and mainstream media is not it. I can't speak for all women obviously, but personally what I would aim for is not particularly romantic per se, but it's certainly not the brutality we've been brainwashed into going with. And we all put up with disgusting, degrading sexual demands from men because we know that most of them wouldn't do the things we like even if we explicitly asked them, so we give up. And when we give up we sink into that world of "anything goes", and before we know it we're coked out of minds with a vaginal and anal prolapse. Meditate on that for a bit.

This woman is so underrated that it hurts my soul. & for her to come forward & make this song in the first place...she seriously deserves all of the love & respect in the world! Glad to see someone so talented actually making something of themselves while exposing how they tried making her sell het soul to get to where she is. But stood her ground & made it her own damn way! Jeffrey Thomas i think they’re talking about what she talks about in the song... have sex with me and I’ll make you famous and if you don’t do it, or try to complain, then I’ll ruin your career and give you a bad name so no one will work with you. Did you not listen to the song? Idk if she was talking from first person tho- but if she is, that’s a horrific situation to be in. Not to mention you’re a man and don’t know what it’s like to have the opposite gender be physically stronger than you. So you can’t relate on that alone.

speeeee35 Yes, she is. She said she wrote this based off of an experience she had with a producer.
@maya_chx5 жыл бұрын
@@speeeee35 I think that, just because he's a man, doesn't mean he cant empathise with her. Sure, he may never know that experience in reality, but we should be building bridges, not severing them because people don't perfectly understand something. There's enough understanding through the basis of shared humanity, I think. Plus, it's so powerful when random strangers stand up for each other - shows how much love there is in the world. No hate tho x

This song makes me cry so fucking hard. When I was 14 I was assaulted in a bus and when it came down to it the man got away with what he did to me. When I first spoke about the incident with my family they blamed it on me for not going straight home after school, for visiting my dad instead (my parents were divorced). My sister spoke to her friend who’s a police officer, and he said because I didn’t remember much of the details such as bus number, more about the man who jerked off on me there was little that could be done. This happened 7 years ago, yet I can’t move on. I can’t let any man get touch me or get close to me. It feels like a fucking joke. I’ve torture my self over the years, it even triggered an eating disorder. Even though I’m better now, that day I lost my voice, the will to speak, and I stopped eating because I just wanted to fully disappear. Since then I’ve had to keep rebuilding myself and even though I’m super bubbly a big part of who I was got destroyed along the way. It makes me sad because I remember the carefree, curios, and hopeful little girl I once was, and I know I will never be the same again. I wish I could go back and be there for myself.

Right? Me too... and your comment should have more likes for relating to the song and speaking up about it rather than those arguing about who and why they "here"... love them all but it's the subject at matter, in the entertainment industry and its every where else too... and not just females but males also... ex: school grades, sports, regular jobs out there, such as housekeeping or waitressing to support themselves or family!? It's every where, all the time... and that's disturbing!
