Happy Wednesday! It sure will be nice to have spatterdock. Thanks

Happiest of Wednesday's to you! It is a temporary location, but I think we'll get some out of it.

Jacobs ladder reached all the way up to heaven; so in a sense a Jacobs ladder is a stairway to heaven Question: What will happen to your spadderdock (and the aquatic farmer) during a badtide? Tip: In order to stop the mechanical pump from overflowing the 'destination' side, build a little reservoir where it pumps into, with walls as high as the bottom of the pump - the pump stops when the fluid level is about 0.1 tile under the outlet Put a sluicegate or two at the bottom of the reservoir emptying into the channel, set to close at a downstream depth of say 0.7 or 0.8 That way the sluicegates keep the channel from overflowing and emptying, whilst the mechanical pump keeps the reservoir filled up

The spadderdock will die during a bad tide. The reservoir is ultimate plan. It's a work in progress.

If you unmark the cutting areas that have already been cleared it could help your frame rate and the spadderduck will all die during the first bad tide.

I'll try that. I always forget about bad tide, but, the location is temporary. I'll move the spadderdock to the other canal eventually.

Build sluice gates in the beaver-made canal, dismantle a small bit of the levee dam, TNT ground, and sluice hole, and then rebuild the levee dam.

I would, but I want to use a mechanical pump.

Each morning, 1st Births are calculated, then Deaths are calculated. (Harder to run out of beavers that way) When a beaver get a debuff or a buff runs out, the New Reduced Life Expectancy is applied. Beavers rarely die from starvation or dehydration, the debuffs from both of those reduces life expectancy, which is what kills usually them.

If you blast the next section of dynamite, you can start replacing the Path across. Move Food/Water up the volcano? Well, yes, but it's a Low priority, since it won't really be Used until it's a separate district. You Could do that now I guess, but add (&fill) their storage 1st.

I won't be bringing food and water up just for the building project, but will probably do another district up there for the bad water extraction. We shall see.

What is the benefit of mechanical pump over sluices? Sluices don't need power, they can maintain water level, they can close on bad water
@MrStoneIV_

There is no benefit other then doing something different.

A power line (with a few windmills?) connecting the rest of your power, sounds good, but without battery reserves the pump will drain power from industry. If you put a wall around the planned spadderdock field, you can get Some water in though a sluice, but you'll still need a water dump/pump. If you Don't put a wall around it, everything dies with every badtide. Yes, put barriers around the outside, but Later.

The spadderdock field is temporary, but yes, sluices would keep good water in there. Bad tide will kill them off.

Have you made a plan to keep bad water out of your spadderdock field? might need some levees and sluice gates to block bad water and also act as water containment during a drought.

No, it's a temporary spot. It'll move to the new-ish canals soon.

Is there any actual end goal for the beavers, or are maps endless?

The end goal is whatever you make it in this game. There is a new wonder that kind of signifies the end of the game, but it is pretty open ended.

Why. Mechanical pump when a sluice can put water in the canal for free/no power
@MrStoneIV_
@MrStoneIV_ 4 күн бұрын
No good reason. Just something different to do.
@Modhunter42
@Modhunter42 4 күн бұрын
Because a Sluice won't work during a drought or badtide. The pump will work until contamination reaches 100%, and will autostart when it drops back to 99%.

@@Modhunter42 you could use a water dump and have a beaver fill it up if it starts to get too low:)

@@Modhunter42 I was thinking in combination with Sluices so the only time they would have to be in there or would not be able to keep up with just be during the droughts or bad tides, but during temperate it would fill up completely, so maybe if it was two or three deep
