Joe last question, do you know why perhaps cruise control isn't working so I've done the jetson speed hack using the bluetooth module but I noticed the cruise control isn't working it was working before I did the speed hack.. maybe a wire is knocked out of place?

Not sure, I do not have the bluetooth module. It works with the older Jetson. I would double check your wiring. Or put the controller back to stock and try again.

do you think a quick release would be safe for this bike just want to make sure no thread lock is needed also would a bigger battery with more amp allow for faster speeds

Hey Thomas many components are already quick release, wheels, folding handle bars etc. What else do you want to quick release? The bigger battery will give you longer range. To get faster speed you need a larger capacity controller, (more amps, and then a higher voltage battery)

First try the a higher amp controller, then if that is not fast enough, you would have to move to a higher voltage battery.

Just wondering dad and i hooked up a new batter and when we go tonplug the charge cord into the bike, smoke comes out so we quickly unplug it. Dad said it was hooked up just like you said. Any ideas??

Sounds like you shorted a connection out on the second battery. Remove the second battery and try connecting the built in battery and see what happens. Hopefully you did not blow up your controller. Remove any additional wiring you added and check that wiring with a continuity meter. This will tell you if your wiring is shorted out.

I have 40V Ryobi lawn mower with 6 Amp battery. I found out it is actually 36V. I may modify and use Ryobi battery as spare for long ride.

Hi I have a quick question, the bike comes with 350w motor and 6Ah battery. The one you show on the video is using 8000mAh, I am not sure but will it hurt or works fine on the motor, or it just boosts the range . Also once we change the battery do we using the original charger for charge ?Thanks.

amp hours affects range, more amp hours longer riding range, The motor and controller will consume up to the max amps that it is rated for. If your motor consumes more amps that the controller is rated for then yes heat will not be kind to your controller. The controller on the Jetson Bolt Pro is rated up to 540 watts. So you are fine.

In the case of the battery I purchased the charger is rated for 42 volts and 2.0 amps, The original charger is rated for 42 volts and 1.2 amps, so you could use either charger. The 1.2 amps charger will just take a bit longer to charge. Great questions

Hi William, If you want longer life, You can stay with 36 volts and increase from 6AH to 10 AH. See the Amazon link in the Battery video. I am going to do a video soon on how to add an external battery for much longer range. If you want more power you can look at upgrading your controller to 48 volts and go with an external mounted battery. I will do a video on that a bit later. Thanks for the good question.

@Russian New York News you’re controller needs to be able to handle 20amp, that’s a lot for a little bike. If you look at the controller I imagine it’s less then 20amps

You can purchase 5 mm screw on adapters from Amazon and wire up your own charger.

Has that battery lasted you so far and did you see good range because rn at 17mph my battery depletes so fast with the stock battery

Yes, the controller reads the voltage, so the battery meter works.

Instead of soldering, could you just use WAGO inline connectors?

Like your videos Joe, keep up the great work. But to be honest with you why would you buy an eight amp hour battery when it has hardly any travel power. The whole purpose for me to upgrade the battery is to get a much more distance out of it. How much more distance are you going to get with an eight amp hour battery. The internal battery that comes with the bike six Apple ours doesn’t provide enough. So no offence but why would you buy and upgrade to an 8 ah battery. Not worth the low added fuel distance. How about 14 ah battery. Much better distance in the long run. Thank you very much for the videos have a great day.

It looks to me like the battery is 30 18650s in a 10s3p configuration and the old battery is only larger because of the plastic case. I think the best you could hope for in that enclosure is 10 amp hour using the most energy dense 18650s. Maybe you can do a more complex layout though, I don’t know, I don’t have this bike to measure.

There is a KZbin video that a person did it was Brick Lithium, The guy/business who, makes the batteries himself! He replaced his Jetson Battery with a 14 amp hour custom made battery, made by Brick Lithium! So you can get a fairly large amp hour battery in the unit! I was going to buy and order one of these 14 amp hour batteries from Brick Lithium but the man is in China, and will not be getting back to building custom made batteries, until 2024! Unfortunately, I will not be able to purchase from him, until then! As my Jetson is new, I purchased it in November, from Costco during a Black Friday sale, at $340 delivered, with tax added, total $392, and did not start using it, until the spring time, meaning outside! So, I should get 300 charges to 500 charges out of it before I need to replace it! I take extremely good care of my stuff so I will be maintaining the battery properly!! Then, come 2024, I will buy a 14 amp hour battery through brick lithium, when the owner, goes back to making custom batteries again, in 2024! Depends on if you want replace the internal battery or use an external battery. I use batteries for other projects so I purchased the 8 amp and use it in conjunction with the internal battery

Amazon has a battery that has 10 ah capacity that will fit in the same space. See the link in the description. You can also add an external battery mounted to a bike rack. I am going to do a future video showing how.

@@illesttrait8491 Too many factors involved, your weight, hilly or flat, Best thing to do is start out with the 10AH battery and then add an external battery if more range is needed.
