@@paulsonsca They're so useful. I actually bought a new peg recently so I could make a video on it!

So you don't use the tension adjustment at all? You just flex it during blade installation? What is the tension adjustment on that saw anyways? I see no wing nut at the end.

Is there a link for the "more saw techniques" video?

You say don’t cut a v in your bench peg. Can I ask what, if anything, you do to prepare a new bench peg?

question, how often should i expect blades to break? i cant tell if its just the nature of the sawblades to break all the time, or if its misuse. thanks again, i hope for you that this channel grows!

Thanks! The blades are very hard metal and so are brittle. They dont like being twisted or bent. Maybe try with the stronger ones like 3/0 or 2/0 size. Hold the piece securely so there is no movement. Wax the blade and check your grip. You shouldn't have to push and pull with lots of strength

if you file with a LIGHT grip and aren't switching between metals - then not all that often. When you are first learning - expect to break about 4/hr. I teach the finger and thumb holding technique to my students. Yes, you end up using more than that to control the saw, but if you START there, you only end up using the other fingers for a more control.
