Historically India/ bharat has always been a country which is very flexible in its belief system, its very accepting of others and their beliefs..... It even entertainments diverging from mainstream Hinduism, be it Jainism, budhism, Sikhism and while each has faced its own set of struggles, they've never been prosecuted. The only religion that I find to be in turmoil in the indian subcontinent is Islam. I love the culture of Islam, its writtings and its people but one can not deny its purpose and motivation was to take over the indian subcontinent.
