In November of 1973, this movie convinced me that a conspiracy had indeed occurred, & this movie was the Closest to what really happened, That's why it was pulled from the theaters.

Most of the main elements of the conspiracy, Military Industrial Complex, Big Oil, CIA and Organized crime are all represented here in this film. It was pulled from theaters mainly because it was very close to the truth.

@@ceeexemcee catch up? look at these guys! they all have their walking around haircuts that they showed up w/, on set in '73. the sideburns all have to go! ten years earlier (remember? it takes place in '63), none of these men would have sideburns. and their hair is too long, anyway. in real life (in '63), people would stare at these guys, and think they lacked access to a barber for 2 years. they haven't even made an attempt to wear ugly '60's clothes .they're wearing ugly '70's clothes. and until the Beatles, hair in America was ridiculously short. look at any authentic film of the period. look at the official Warren Omission photo. squaresville, man. not a sideburn in sight, and all have very short hair. Robert Ryan, Lancaster, Geer, and the other guy have their walking around ('70's) haircuts. this is a poorly made period piece. Oliver Stone put us in the era he was portraying, whether or not his "facts" were correct. this film was thrown together w/ no attention to period. it could've been a great film, if someone gave a shit. and Lancaster shows up at a meeting w/ some kind of a 'Bad news bears' hat on. that style hat was big in the '70's. in '63, he'd have no hat, or a fedora, which JFK coincidentally, drove out of style.

I haven’t seen this movie in it’s entirety, but I can tell you that this is one of the reasons why the film works. The conspirators genuinely believe they are doing the right thing. In their minds they are the hero’s of this story. It would be less believable if they hadn’t done that.

After JFK was assassinated, we got 1) Civil Rights Act of 1964, 2) Voting Rights Act of 1965, 3) Fair Housing Act of 1968, 4) Immigration Act of 1965, 5) Vietnam War with public disenchantment, 6) Test Ban Treaty remained in force and 6) Closer ties to Israel (non-response to USS Liberty attack. So, it seems that despite all their careful planning, the conspirators got the exact opposite of what they wanted. And for those that think JFK was going to “end the fed”, the Executive Order he signed delegating issuance of Silver Certificates to the Sec. of the Treasury wasn’t rescinded until 1983.

The first speaker with the glasses acts superbly. He reminds me of Peter Sellers in the Dr. Strangelove movie. If there was a conspiracy, which I think there was, these men represent the oligarchy and Eastern Establishment (which researcher Vincent Salandria said was behind the JFK hit). They look very much what the real conspirators must be like. Brilliant representation.
@portugal5698 Жыл бұрын
My thoughts exactly. Other than Hunt and Murchison, who was the Intelligence conspirator w/ the glasses based off? Correct me if I’m wrong, but the leader of the first hit team was def based off Walker, right?
@portugal56988 ай бұрын
I actually have come to the conclusion after various research that the man w/ glassed is based off Richard Caine.
@grovercleavland26985 ай бұрын
Regarding the part where they are talking about Civil Rights, it’s actually kind of ironic. Because Kennedy’s death is ultimately what gave LBJ all of the foder he needed to push the civil rights act of 1964 through. If Kennedy hadn’t been shot, the act likely never would’ve passed in addition to the legislation that came afterwards such as the voting rights act of 1965 and the fair housing act of 1968. Even if Johnson didn’t get dumped from the ticket in 64 those bills probably wouldn’t have been passed. This was probably the one and only way the coup backfired on the conspirators.

Would absolutely love to see this film be remade in the future. This time replace the “fake names of conspirators” w/ their real identities, like “General Keyhoe,” leading the first hit team at the end of this clip, instead showing his name-badge as “Gen. Walker!!” 😉 Obv, the easiest ones to make out are Hunt and Murchison from this clipb, but this should have included Carlos Marcello’s influence in the event as well.

You do know that this movie is 10x more accurate and factual than the one by Oliver Stone right? The whole hunting cabin shooting scenes in the woods with the Dallas PD guy was proven to be real. Look up all these guys. Roscoe White, Charles Harrelson (the blond shooter and Woody’s dad), alond with James Files, Herminio, and Atlee philips. Not to mention the G.B. Sr. / Landsale composite character guy who was the middle man between the oil cowboys and the assassins.

How this travesty ever got green-lighted, much less filmed, much less released, is the only mystery here. And it was pulled from theaters after barely a month. That's about all you need to know about it. At best it qualifies as a question for "JFK Jeopardy" - "This 1973 film was the last movie seen by Oswald friend George de Mohrenschildt."
