The BEST OLED Ultrawide? - LG 45" 240Hz OLED Gaming Monitor (2024) Review

This is my favorite monitor so far. Even when compared to my 42in LG OLED’s 4k resolution, I still prefer gaming on this as the Ultrawide aspect ratio + 800r curve creates such an unreal immersion effect that not even a crisp 4K image can match it in action. I’ve been playing alot of Helldivers 2, Wuthering Waves, Delta Force and Marvel Rivals on it recently and it still blows my mind every single day how beautiful this thing is.

I think in some setups the curve would likely be too much, but for something like a sim racing rig it’s perfect!

One question that is always on my mind: do you think that because of the lower resolution of this 45 inch model, I should go for the 39 version of this one? Would have been the best monitor and I would have gotten it also. But 84 ppi is terrible on a monitor that big. So for that reason alone I went with the OLED G9 with a ppi of 110.

I'm looking to buy a dedicated monitor for my sim rig and I'm having a hard time deciding between this monitor and the Samsung 57 inch Odyssey Neo G9 that is 4K. I have a direct drive wheelbase with an extension so I can fit the monitor behind my wheel. Do you think the ppi in the LG will be a problem if I'm sitting 19 to 20 inches away from it?

Treated myself to a 34 inch LG ultrawide monitor in the black friday sales.....classic Amazon sent me a clearly used and broken one, genuinely could have cried when I opened it 🙄

As someone who has had many monitors, including this exact model, and the 34, and 38 versions, this is by far the worst most blurry bunch of the pack, i would recommend anyone check out LG oled tvs, like the LG B4 OLED for 600 dollars new, instead of this 1000$ subpar monitor that trys to appeal to all falls short due to Matte screen and a unsuitable resolution for the size.

This is bullshit. I tried c3 and c4 lg tv oled and monitor g9 oled and this 45” is by far best monitor for gaming today. With DLDSR with 5120x2160res this beast is top notch monitor for gaming

Unfortunately not really, OLED is quite expensive technology so finding a cheaper one is rare. They’re often on sale on things like Prime Day / Black Friday, and some older models tend to cost around £700-800, but yeah for the newer higher spec ones you’re looking at over 1K
