Having worked in law enforcement for almost 30 years, I'm so sorry you did not get justice. Sometimes, getting unrefutable proof is difficult when the victim is a child. Unfortunately, there are disreputable lawyers out there who make a practice of exploiting the victims. I hope you have gotten expert therapeutic help for this. You are more than worthy of that.

I’m an lifelong agnostic who went to a catholic university and taught at a catholic high school. Religion has always intrigued me but hypocrisy in religious systems have always disgusted me. I as an outsider did not feel the documentary was attacking Christianity, but I see where Christians are concerned that it is. My favorite classes in college were analyzing the gospels. When you watch Bringing Up Bates and 19 Kids/Counting On you see a remarkable difference between the kids. The Bates kids (regardless of what you think of their father) seemed to truly enjoy one another’s company and looked totally at ease. In contrast, the Duggar kids just seemed to be going thru the motions by putting on their shiny, happy faces. We now understand why the Duggar kids always seemed to keep one another at an arm’s length - it’s all about Josh’s criminal behavior and JB and Michele’s cover up of that behavior.

What has always made me mad is the lies Michelle and Jim tell about birth control. It’s devastating to me how this doctrine can cause so much pain for these women and shame. Endometriosis, adenomyosis, menstrual pain and irregularity can be immensely painful and anemia can be life threatening. Birth control is sometimes the only treatment. I honestly don’t believe Michelle ever took birth control and miscarried. It’s a lie they concocted long ago to demonize family planning.

I grew up in Missouri about 30 minutes from the Arkansas border. My entire childhood my family members talked about how sad it was that dogs had more rights & were treated better than kids in Arkansas. I recall a case in the 90's about a 13 year old boy who killed his father because the dad was S/A his little sisters and wouldn't stop. They tried him as an adult & I believe he was looking at life. That state has some of the most beautiful scenery I've ever seen but you couldn't pay me to live there. They are almost primitive in they're thinking. They haven't caught up to the 1900's let alone the 2000's. 3:35

I am a Catholic Christian. I love my Bible. I read it daily. My favorite books are Psalms, and Song of Solomon. And of course, the Gospels. Never for one second did I feel that the producers nor the survivors were attacking the Gospels or any other part of the Bible. And “thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor,” is one of the biggies! It’s in the Ten Commandments! It’s number eight for Catholics and nine for everyone else. I actually felt like most of the survivors were still Christians, but had found a truer form of Christianity, which was not so based on the flawed doctrine of a deeply broken and wicked man, who twisted and skewed the words of the Lord to suit his nefarious purposes and those of the men he surrounded himself with.

18:51 Yesterday, I read online about what I thought was an upstanding National Christian craft store. Years ago, I did purchase the needed items for several crafts I was making for several special customers. I am a non-denominational Paster, and my faith is extremely strong due to multiple disabiling health issues for the past 43 years. Many years ago, I loved the Duggers shows until the issues with Josh and his parents surfaced. Now, back to yesterday's news. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think the Green family and their Christian beliefs would be identical to the Duggers. They are huge contributors to the same church beliefs as the Duggers. They are also huge supporters of our ex-President and still facing more potential charges for things he has done while still in office as well as the days following his leaving office. Now, before anyone says anything, this post is ABSOLUTELY my own opinion, and I believe we can/should be able to agree to disagree. The religion these people/followers adhere to, I believe, is a cult-like region and can not be good. Jill and Jinger are two people not afraid of the consequences of their actions because their father has no moral compass. Have a blessed, safe, and healthy rest of 2023.

Correct, both Ben and Jessa never once said a word about Jinger's book. I have no idea how Jessa can continue to sleep in the same bed as a man who can not support his family on his own. Jim Bob surely can remember everything else, besides sending his son away 3x for SA his daughters.

I find it heartbreaking how some parents distort the Word of God for their own purposes and to control their children. That is absolutely not what God teaches- I understand conviction as a personal experience; when parents push their own convictions onto the rearing of their children it robs them from growing a healthy, trusting and intimate relationship with the Lord. 💕 this channel.

If it’s anything like my mom was like was she punished me as a 15 year old teen then she told me forget it. It didn’t happen so stop complaining and telling me lies . I am sure jb found a way to turn this around and blame the girls. I don’t believe josh told his parents I think Jill told them and they sent josh away so the problem could be forgotten. I don’t think they were attacking Christians in the doc but they didn’t do a good enough job separating regular churches from the cult. I may believe some of these things they do but I practice it 10000% different, and not harmful to others.

This is why it is important for mainstream churches and Biblical Christians to disavow all things Gothard and support the survivors of these cults. I actually watched Spencer Smith's coverage mentioned @12:35 and even with his beliefs being to the right of mainstream Christianity, he was adamantly against Josh Duggar and gave strong support to the victims. He also pointed out how Gothard's teaching are not in the Bible. So I was pleasantly surprised to see this even if he is of the opinion that the docu-series lumped all of Christianity in with the IBLP.

The hardest thing was for the kids to be on a reality show and once again having to pretend how perfect their family is...and then when Josh did what he did..the sisters were forced to pretend it never happened..just so Jim Bob could continue making money off the show..I really feel that eyes need to open up regarding their brother and how things being handled and how Jill is being treated just for opening up on what happened to her. Jim Bob and Michelle are going to be very lonely one day..

I was Pentecostal private schooled and home schooled, it was horrible and did not prepare me for college or life. I used to grade my own test and never had any test at the end to see if I was ready. In my 11th year, the only thing I could do was go get my GED so I could get into college. My parents regret everything now, but now is to late.
