Fun fact there's isn't a single HR in any corporation that's "for the employees" HR is only to prioritize the company image first and foremost.
@TheRpf1977
@TheRpf1977 2 жыл бұрын
HR is there to deal with employee vs employee issues and consulting the managers on if the way they treat employees is going to get the company sued. I have seen managers fired because of excessive reports of them harrassing employees with wrong behavior or language!
@joshuac5537
@joshuac5537 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah I learned this a little late. My manager was harassing me. I asked to move teams, we had 5 others, instead they fired me so quick my coworkers thought I had gotten sick, thrown up and just left early lol they boxed up my things and mailed them to me.

@@TheRpf1977 yeah thats the basics, but alot more to it than just the employee to employee. My wife works in HR for UB and I didn't know how much she actually did until she worked from home. The crappy thing is the meeting they make you attend when you have alot of work to do. Waiting others to do their job so you can finish yours. F that crap.

The name tells you what they really are ..... Human Resources, a totally dehumanizing name when you break down it's meaning. To the Corporations you are nothing but another Resource to be exploited like any other resource such as oil or steel or whatever ... About 25 years ago I made a vow to never work for any company that had a Human Resources department and I haven't

A lot of companies have high turnover and it just leads to one big clusterfuck shitshow workplace alot of times and it can be difficult to deal with, especially with how few companies try to retain good employees nowadays. . Its just the way it is. A lot of surviving long term at a job is just being at the right place at the right time (maybe getting a promotion early on due to somebody retiring etc ) and having the right people around you (good co workers. and bosses)

Speaking as a creative professional and a wrestling fan, the prospect of working at WWE seems like it *should* be cool, but everything I've heard about the corporate culture makes it sound like a nightmare - especially considering how they're prone to random mass-layoffs, you get worked into the ground, and for a company as profitable as WWE is, the pay isn't commensurate with the stupidly high cost of living in Stamford.
@Matt-cr4vv
@Matt-cr4vv Жыл бұрын
Word. Hearing stories about various times Vince had to lend people money so they could afford a home in Stamford while being the the top company of their industry is crazy. Especially when you hear stories of people like JJ Dillon or Corny considering they were like entry level employees where you can see why they’d make low money in their role. But the idea that a head of talent relations or a key person in their creative process not being able to afford to live there is wild.

The reviews from people who worked normal type jobs there make sense. If you weren’t someone from the wrestling business or with knowledge of how the wrestling business runs the insane demands of WWE and Vince would be crazy to experience because it isn’t normal for anything besides this industry. But I don’t think anyone could last long term there without a passion for wrestling considering the demands required of the job. If you worked there just to have a job and didn’t care about wrestling there’s no way you’d stick it out long term with the demands that accompany your role.

Vince Mcmahon reminds me of Bill Mumy who played Anthony Fremont on Twilight Zone episode "It'a A Good Life" where everyone is afraid of this little boy & everyone has to agree with him or he will wish them out to the cornfield. The first warning sign that VKM was "not playing with a full deck" is when he silenced the ring announcer Gary Michael Cappetta from All-Star Wrestling (at the expansion era) because Cappetta appeared on an NWA house show & VKM believed the fans would be "confused" seeing Cappetta on a WWF Show.

Yeah, that was one of the stories that they turned into a segment in Twilight Zone: The Movie. Directed by Joe Dante.

What Jim said at the end is the truth. You wonder why no-one can break out as a future star anymore cause they have no balls. Happy to take the money and run.

I mean at this point can you blame anyone? The whole thing is a shitshow becoming a star there doesn't mean anything. Who wants to be the star of the children's TV show that treats its audience like assholes? Might as well just take their fucking money and run off with it

@@maeschder Well you aren't making mega money in the WWE unless you're on a cena/reigns/austin/hogan/etc level. (Though it's still a good living) Might as well take some chances and go for it.

The irony of the WWE from the early 2000s onward is that Vince fancied it an all-encompassing entertainment conglomerate and most decidedly *not* a wrestling company. Hence why they had to employ "creative" and "writers," rather than just having a booking commitee. Yet the work environment was such that no one without a pre-existing passion for wrestling could possibly stand it.

Man if it’s true that Vince really likes people that are willing to stand up to him no wonder Tony Schiavone was never hired back in WWE. That and he’s just terrible at announcing.

Regarding the review that cited cutting off access during furloughs as an example of a lack of trust of employees: regulations around furloughing employees is very strict to prevent any attempts to game the unemployment system via furloughs. My employer's understanding was that if anyone so much as checked an email or answered a call about work from a colleague that would violate regs regarding furlough. Access was cut off by IT as well to systems.

Holy fucking shit, I literally cried at "No ones care about you", holy shit, I can't stop laughing, this is such a fucking bizarre and surreal thing to say about workplace, but it's 100% truthful if we talking about WWE, and it makes it so hilarious. God.

There's probably not one job out there TODAY! that operates to one's liking. The Pandemic has stomped retail, office, law enforcement, manufacturing, delivery, medical fields, into the ground. you name it.
