@@PanasonicYouth21I don’t know the real reason he left, Cody is too professional to say anything outright and his relationship with the Bucks and Omega may not be in ruins or anything. BUT, it was becoming increasingly obvious that there was at least a rift that had formed between them in the back half of Cody’s AEW run. You rarely ever saw them on the same screen anymore as far as I know and while it seemed like Cody was part of the Elite in the beginnings, that ended quickly. Cody clearly didn’t like where he was at by the end of his AEW run though, and he even mentioned in interviews that he could see the coming conflicts (that have come to pass). His vision of what he wanted AEW to be and what he wanted from himself in AEW just didn’t align with what the other EVPs wanted. Whether that was a main reason for his departure is up in the air though as, again, he’s not going to go into those kinds of details. Cody and Punk are very different people, but they both share that common thing, they didn’t fit in with what kind of wrestling show the Elite and their cohorts want (the indie, spot-filled kind).
@noelatcheson4174 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, Punk out of AEW is probably the right call. I feel he shouldn't have went back after what happened last year if there were still issues. When you work with people you don't get along with, most times it eventually will bubble and rise up (speaking from experience working with other people where this happened). Also, AEW needs to review how they do business. There's obviously a few people there who think they can act as they see fit without consequence. That's not how successful businesses run. Cornette nails it here - "it was snakebit from the start".
@Greetanate Жыл бұрын
The problem is there are too many people doing too much shit thinking they are the top dog. The elite and omega and punk did last year, punk and Perry did this year. If Punk forgave WWE and did a program with Seth Rollins to unify those titles, it would make for good TV. As someone who is the same age as Tony, my childhood hero was Warrior. I see Punk and Warrior as being both similarly stubborn people. That's the only reason why Punk entertaining WWE sounds possible to me. I'm not hoping for that though. Random: Damn I'm old. I really grew up through the 80s and saw Goldberg being the in-ring personification of Warrior for the late 90s. Then I got to see kids call him old.

For Punk's wellbeing I don't think he should be wrestling again because it's causing him and everyone else grief and I doubt that would change in WWE. Both Triple H and Vince probably don't want him back or worse don't need him because they have Roman Reigns, Sami Zayn, Rhea Ripley, Damian Priest, Drew McIntyre, Cody Rhodes, Finn Balor, etc. I think the wrestling world is going to move on from CM Punk and for the man himself no matter how you feel about him, he'll be better once he's back with his family. Whether he wants to wrestle again or not is his choice, but I highly doubt that he will ever step back in a wrestling ring.

When you have a billionaire's heir throwing money around so he can have "friends" and fulfill his pro wrestling fantasies, hoping/believing it is a work is just sad. TK is paying these gymnasts to be his friends, it is nothing more, just a rich kid buying friends and those friends taking every advantage of that rich kid that they can. The Bucks, Omega, Page, and the other children suckling at TK's teets are just taking advantage of a rich kid's wealth. AEW will be nothing but yet another WCW 2.0 knockoff failure in a few years just like TNA before it.

I don't think it is at all a work and that's the crazy part that the networks and the people with the money are not getting involved in these situations. @@theboxingboy7422 I think AEW having a show on Saturday night is leading to AEW's downfall quick. I’ve watched stuff from both sides that I’ve really enjoyed. But hearing this man being so firm on knowing what happened without having been there is kind of crazy. Fun to listen to, but definitely nuts 😂 Also, listen to that last bit from about 5:20 on about how AEW’s whole existence has been based on luck. I really think it ticks Cornette off when another company’s progress reminds him about how he couldn’t keep the doors open on his regional company. He very rarely gives any promotion credit for their successes, but loves rolling around in their failures. It’s sad, because this guy has a lot to contribute to the business if he could just learn how to play with others and accept some audiences enjoy aspects of wrestling he doesn’t agree with.
