This is a late reply, but yeah, that ECW phase in the episode really irked me. I was like, "damn, Paul really did that to them?" Adding what Tommy Dreamer was plotting for Paul at WM17 and why, I really see Heyman differently, or at least keep that in the back of my mind.

2005 was such a depressing year. We lost both Chris Candido and Eddie Guerrero. Two guys who battled demons and overcame them but their lives ended too quick. The image of Chris holding the NWA World Tag Titles after The Naturals beat AMW with such joy on his face is one of the most heartbreaking images in wrestling history as he had already passed when that episode aired. Also, f.k Paul Heyman

It was such a sad episode to see how he was treated and just how top notch of s person he was. But one thing I was really pleased about with the episode was how much they focused on Chris and not Tammy. So often he gets overshadowed by Tammy’s bullshit, and obviously you have to include her because she’s so integral to his life, but it was really nice that they didn’t let her take the thing over and kept the focus as much as it could be on Chris. That was really nice to see.

I saw a Candido shoot and she was off in the background probably after blowing the producer and she wouldn't shut the fuck up so then she comes over cause he finally says "You wanna get in on this" and then she does and she just could never let the guy have anything for himself. She always had to shoe horn her slutty ass into whatever he was doing. I don't hate Tammy but she is sick. SHE IS. She has a major sex addiction too.

I really liked Chris' short run in WCW in 1999, as the cruiserweight bully. Goddamn Tammy ruined that for him, too. She got all soma'd up and passed out in the lockerroom. Kimberly Page found her with a bottle of pills spilled all over the floor.

She ruined his career. Whether it was intentional or not. I’m not saying he didn’t have issues either. During their WWF stint, she outshined him and made him the locker room joke. After he left she followed him to ECW and got him in trouble with her drug issues, and finally in WCW, she got them in trouble again with her incident with Kimberly Page.

It would've been nice if they had briefly talked about what TNA did for Tammy following Chris' death. From what's been told, TNA sent Chris' final paycheck to Tammy, who couldn't deposit or cash it since it was in Chris' name. When she asked for it to be drawn up in her name instead, TNA refused since she and Chris were never legally married. Instead, TNA sent her a boneless ham. I know it's stupid, but I would've been curious to see the reactions of Lance, Jim, Johnny, etc. to that story. Maybe it would've brought a little bit of levity to an already dark episode.

@@cronsmans I've heard the same regarding the tag belt. He was managing the Naturals at the time, and she apparently got one of them and the office kept the other. That she turned around and sold. Also, that the ham was from a restaurant and part of a whole meal. It just sounds way cooler to say "all I got was a ham". The cheque thing makes total sense -- unfortunately when you die, any outstanding money is put in your name and goes through the estate. It's not TNA's problem at that point she couldn't cash it.

I get it’s hard to leave but eventually if you keep allowing it to happen it is partially on you. I get not going after HBK because you can’t but that doesn’t mean you stay with her and allow it. Especially because it seems everybody knew she did this with many people for years and years and frankly he’d have to have been delusional to not have been aware of it. So it doesn’t give her a pass whatsoever but it does lessen to an extent the sympathy for him to continue allowing it because harsh as it is to say you teach people how they’re allowed to treat you and he taught her she could treat him like absolute dog shit and he’d always stick around.

Chris had an obsessive personality, he killed himself because of wrestling which is probably why cornette admires him , Tammy said Chris would act suicidal if she left him so he probably had issues

If cheating on him didn't drive him to suicide then leaving him wouldn't have either. I'm sure Chris would've moved one from her and realize it was a blessing in disguise.

5:59 - Is Brian implying that Chris no longer cared about the relationship and let Tammy do whatever she wanted? Or that he somehow liked getting cucked by her? 🤨
@PauloTheGeek

I guess I'll say what everyone is thinking. Chris Candido and Tammy basically had a cuckhold arrangement going in. She slept around, he knew and approved of it, may have even derived some pleasure from it. Sounds like he was really mixed up guy.

8:25 your calling him a cuck. Brian with all his might is calling chris a cuck and he feels bad about it cause the guys dead. Fun thing is i remember icp saying chris was protective off sunny (tammy) maybe he just didn't want her around them.

Okay, I've had this thought for a while, is it possible the reason for Tammy being what she was, and Chris never doing anything is because he had a Cuckold fetish? That's the only thing I can think of.

Brian , are you insinuating a cuck possibility ? Ive heard other wrestlers say that . But I dont feel like that was the case at all . I think he cared for her so much he turned the blind eye . Or just put up with it because he wanted it to work out . But IDK . Regardless its a shame he died so young . Super talented guy who obviously LOVED the biz since a kid . And he would be more over now in this climate than he ever got to be unfortunately . Him teaming with or against MJF or both would be incredible ! AEW world champ Chris Candido sounds great to me . He can talk , wrestle and teach younger guys . And by now he would be even better . And he still wouldnt be too old just yet .

Johnny Candido looks like a stockier, slightly more in shape(?) version of present-day Moxley, but just as coke/booze-sweaty and off-putting. Weird... I didn't know that every second word out of Chris's mouth was _"dude"_ , apparently. That was the only "new information" I got from this episode. Brian Last's criticisms of the series are not unfounded. I'll leave it at that. Chris Candido's death was obviously tragic, completely preventable, and 100% unnecessary. No wonder his friends and family still have a hard time with it. He would be just 51 years old now. Over a year younger than Jericho and much, much younger than Billy Gunn or Sting. It's heartbreaking. What a waste!

Brian’s criticisms of the show are accurate but unreasonable. As far as leaving things out, Vice gives these guys 60 minutes. There’s only so much content you can fit in that time. A lot of the stuff Brian wants to hear about us the kind of stuff that would be more realistic in a 2 hour episode or a 3 hour deep dive
