The dives were exciting spots when a few people did it and hit them the majority of the time. At this point, people treat it like a fundamental backdrop; the problem is a lot of people doing the dives do not have the skills to do either. He is lucky that spot just ended up being a Shockmaster goof, and he did not seriously hurt himself or someone else. No more dives for Top Dolla Store.

Had this happen to my tag partner in training back in 1990. Fortunately, there was a table butted up to that side of the ring so when he rotated his legs landed on the table. We had to call the local EMTs because he was concussed and disoriented (at the very least!). We didn’t have it on tape so we tried to reconstruct it like a traffic accident. Somehow he went through the ropes when being shot off. We tried to walk it through and reconstruct it but it was like trying to figure out the JFK shot…
