@@Jordan64852 Well Portuguese people learn by immigration and traveling. I was born in California and with 6 years old I already knew two languages. I taught myself how to write in English as a teen by listening to music and writing down the lyrics. As a teacher I can only say that in public schools or state schools(whatever you call it) kids can learn up to two languages if they are willing to( I didn't had the will power to learn French). I love Spain and I wish I could go there more often so I can practice because I already understand and read Castellano (the official language known by Spanish). But Portugal is a poor country and we welcome a lot of cultures so it's convenient that we know more than one language.
