A great thing about this audio is that when the announcer speaks, it actually feels like the 60’s, but when Jimi starts playing it feels so fresh and years ahead of its time !!

What a GREAT band. Jimi Hendrix floats on top of the awesome playing of Mitch and Noel

Closest I have heard live "Hey Joe" recording to the recently recorded studio version, except no backup singers. "Rock Me" still has his pre Experience R&B sound. This is very early Hendrix Experience live.

Excellent found!! This shows how good Mitch and Noel were backbone of the band!

I usually listen more to his later recordings 69-70 but man when i listen to his earliest ones i try to imagine what the audience is feeling knowing this is so new to them

Great point. I saw Chuck Berry in Germany 73, it blew my mind then already knowing his impact. The greats play effortlessly what us mortals try to learn, lol.

I was going to trim some bass, but I thought this is what it was! Marshall bass stacks.

Have you heard the 3 songs Mitch Mitchell does for the movie Psychedelic Priest. Heard them in the movie but can’t find them released in any format or soundtrack album.

Armstrong or BOLDEN, PARKER or DIZZY, COLTRANE, MUDDY or Robert Johnson - each was so radical & influential that there are schools of their music - John McLaughlin still on stage & evoking Hendrix & Trane this year at age 80. Do agree Mitch & Noel sound tight, Noel's bass with less dirt than later on - Mitch bordering on too busy as usual but this must have been Jimi's concept of how it could work.
