I was buying a car in 2002. I had to get an appraisal on my current car for a trade in. This CD played in my car. While the dealership employee came around, they heard "Just Watch the Fireworks" and said "who is this? it's great!". Seeing someone else appreciate, for the first time, the song that you've loved and heard a thousand times, is strange, fun, and I'd recommend it to everyone. I got to do it with this album.

I got pretty emotional watching this. I went to Italy when I was 16 with my nonno. We visited his hometown for 3 weeks when he was 86. I had an Sony minidisc player and this was the only album I had loaded for 3 weeks. Wow, that was amazing.... I was introduced to Static Prevails RIGHT before Clarity came out, so I was ready when Clarity hit... I mean... so ready. It has been a staple in my collection since its release, as has so much of Jimmy Eat World's discography. I can remember when they played a couple of years ago at the Almost Acoustic Christmas (2019) and the crowd freaked out... It was like the collective realized, "wait, we know ALL of these songs!" My wife and I were looking at each other, "wait, how does every person here know all of the words?!?!?!" And, it wasn't just the songs from the radio! Just shows the impact of their music. We've seen them various places over the years (small venues and larger), so it was a highlight and were grinning from ear to ear.
