@Josh Traffanstedt Thank you! Jerry Jone's ego to this day is still screwing up the Cowboys. What about how long he made Jimmy Johnson wait to be inducted into the Cowboys ring of honor? People talk about Al Davis and how the Raiders slipped late in his time as the Raiders owner. Younger people forget that from the late 60's on the Raiders had about a 30 year run where the maintained a level of excellence along with a few outlier years where they were in the AFC championship game and in the 2002 Superbowl. Jerry Jones could have easily positioned the Cowboys to go on a 25 to 30 year run of greatness but he was too busy flexing his ego and trying to monetize everything in sight.

"Our best players were our hardest workers." They sorely miss that today and before anyone says, "oh but Dak works hard and Zeke works hard blah blah blah." There's a definitive difference between "regular working hard," and "championship working hard."

That may be the secret sauce to being a great coach, is gaining that respect, after wins, and losses If you won, Jimmy was your best friend. If you lose, Jimmy was your worst enemy That's really how it should be. An approach like that can only breed better performance. That's how great teams, and great families, are run. Always play to win.

It seemed to me like a repetition of history; think about it with Tom Landry a young, hungry HC. And Staubach & TD & Doomsday. Jimmy’s teams reminded me quite a bit of Tom’s teams. The ‘70s Cowboys won 2 and lost 3. It was the two to the Steelers that were hard to take.

Jerry Pls listen to these. Two angels in the history of the cowboys. Pls I urge you , to get away from all operations. Hire all top class professionals and give them targets. Still this team is so talented. ITS YOU , who killed all those talents. Cowboys could have easily won 2/3 more without you. Wake up. Or once you wouldn’t be able to wake up , this team will win again. God bless cowboys.

I've been a fan since 1992, and stuck through the 5-11 years, the mediocrity, and all the memes. It was a fun ride, but I need one more 1992-style run for old time's sake...

I’m not saying that Jimmy Johnson and Jerry Jones would’ve had a run like the one the patriots did with Kraft and Belichick but dang it Jerry! you guys could’ve had five or six Super Bowls if you had just taken your ego and shoved it up your poop shooter and chilled out. All you had to do was sit back and watch Jimmy bring in the championships

Part of me is jealous of our parent's generation to be able to witness the greatness of the rise of the Cowboys, they really could have been a dynasty before the Patriots did. Then part of me feels bad for those same people that watched the organization tank the last 30 years. I've been a Cowboy for 30 years and remember watching how good they were growing up, and I don't know what's worse.

This is whats wrong with the Cowboys today. They don't have that fear factor. They don't have a coach that will hold them accountable when they f---up!

And then Jerry had to go and f**k it up! Notice that Jimmy didn't let anyone eat. He didn't single out one or two players. He said they all couldn't eat. No that's leading a team.

Team would have won 4 superbowls without a doubt. Possibly 5 or 6. Only thing that would have stopped that dynasty is injury. They were stacked with talent. Jerry and is ego have ruined almost 30 years of cowboys since then

I think his scene on the airplane( ordering the stewardesses not to serve meals) in '92 after the team blew that Game at RFK was a bit over the top. Losing sucks, especially when giving it away. And I LOVE every Jimmy Johnson story as our head coach except for that one.

Not at all over the top. Jimmy cut a player that fumbled in a game played in the snow. That is a coach that you know you better do your best on EVERY PLAY, and the players wanted to do their best on every play for him and their team.

Johnson belittled Don Schula before his own demise at Miami... so much for who gets those golden jackets each year. Only Dallas fans should admire this person. By the way... there's just to many candidates each year for the Canton hall of fame... would you agree?
