It was okay. Charlie explains it rly well and has a lot of patience, so it’s hard to irritate him. But he probably would prefer not to be asked about it all the time. And like he said, in the musician world it’s kinda weird to brag about it. It’s like if an artist would start bragging how they know every color and could make every color to other artists.

It's somewhat disappointing that people only knows Charlie from Tiktok while I know him since 6 years ago. See You Again, One Call Away, Marvin Gaye and We Don't Talk Anymore are some of his biggest hits. The guy is literally a musical nerd/genius who hears everything and knows the exact note and pitch of it. I enjoyed watching his pre-debut videos making vines and randomly making music with his super curly hair. 😂

I have "the ear" also, but he just blows most of us right out of the water. I can find a note if I need to on a keyboard, but not out of the air! Amazing.

@@JaySinghIsImmature Charlie went to Berklee. He definitely didn't learn just by ear. He knows how to read sheet no problem, he just doesn't have to rely on it. Not to mention the majority of musicians in mainstream music can't read music so it's not much more impressive than anyone else really. I'm honestly more impressed by the fact that Charlie is in mainstream music and knows how to read music and knows music theory. The majority of the musicians in my local scene, that I interact with almost daily, don't know how to read sheet music either. Being able to read is definitely the more unusual ability.

Here's the thing, when he was talking about the kid la'roi song and how he brought it a semitone down I understood everything that he said. I could talk music all day. The only thing with Charlie is he over talks his point where he could condense it and make it bite size for folks to grasp on a lot easier but I understood everything and I love the way his mind works

What I see from his overall demeanor is that he doesn’t want to talk about things like perfect pitch and would be fine without making these appearances. But his agent or PR manager is forcing him to talk about it on talk shows so more people hear about him.

I had my doubts about his "perfect pitch." Most people who claim to have perfect pitch really only have a highly developed sense of relative pitch. They've memorized a certain pitch in their head & then can name a random pitch relative to the one in their head. But after this demonstration, I'm convinced this guy really does have perfect pitch. It's a weird, rare skill that not even one in a million musicians have.

I’m pretty sure I have relative pitch because I have A D G and C memorized and usually go by that but sometimes I hear a note and know what it is and just recheck, every once in a while my brain isn’t working or something and my pitches are like a half or whole step up 😂

Having perfect pitch myself, it can also be a curse. You can always tell if someone is singing off key, get bugged when a song is played in the "wrong" key, and common appliances make a cacophony of sounds. I also have to find and identify unknown sounds or I get anxious about them, especially in the car.

I followed Charlie long before he become a superstar. This guy is one of very few people who actually deserve to be where he is at due to sheer talent. In this case, it is literally sheer talent. I remember listening to his music way back in the day, he was always been an incredible songwriter and I can still hear pieces of his old songwriting style in the music he produces now. I love his quirkiness, it hasn't changed, it's what makes him unique.

You cant judge him from see you again there are much more single songs that defines who he really is. I mean i dont hate see you again but it doesn't show his true skills

My wife is like that. She can play things on the piano after hearing it once. Such an awesome skill.

I met a guy in a music shop once who said he had perfect pitch so I played a note on a piano (he couldn't see) and asked him what note it was and he immediately said "Bb" and he was right. Most impressed. One down side though. If your instruments aren't tuned correctly and on key it can drive them crazy.
