Jimmy Kimmel seems so detached from this interview. His staff didn't inform him of Darren at all, he didn't know how he started his career nor his ethnicity. And also he seemed very uninformed about the series, by asking about who was in it and being shocked at hearing Penelope and Ricky were there, and at the end by calling the series a movie until he was corrected. Idk, it seems like his staff didn't make sure he was informed enough to conduct an interview. Darren had to guide this interview himself.

What I still find pretty awesome to this day is that I first became aware of Darren through A Very Potter Musical (which I love), but I learned about the musical *through* the imdb Glee message boards back in Glee's season 1 (since I was a massive Gleek)! And so during the summer after season 1 I distinctly remember being like "how awesome would it be if Darren Criss from AVPM joined Glee!?" And then, low and behold, he became a mainstay of the show from early season 2 onward xD So yeah, I just love that I learned about AVPM/Darren through my Glee fandom, and then Darren came on Glee just months later and became huge for a while :P Plus I'm just in love with his voice and talent over all
