It is really a brave song about people struggling with alcoholism. The Green Serpent is an Eastern European metaphor for alcoholism. (Tatiana has posted about her sobriety). She and the band have a lot of talent but it takes guts to expose one's struggles. Great reaction as always.

I have loved Jinjer for 8 years, ever since I first heard them. I'm a musician myself and have been wondering for 8 years why Roman and his guitar playing are not given enough attention...for me he is a decisive factor in Jinjer sounding the way they do, namely like Jinjer, which is unique!!!!!!!!!!! Thanx for your profound reaction to a world-class band! lovely greetings from the german musician & you are absolutely right with your perception of Jinjer songs...................

As a non-musician... A typical metal or rock band has the lead guitar as the star instrument, most having 2 guitars to double that influence over the music. There are other bands where the drums or bass are the star, but they usually still have the guitar up front too for the melody and riffs... But Jinjer has their guitar as the glue, the light and shade, the pacing, the phasing, all the other benefits you typically get from bass and drums, which lets Vlad & Eugene shine with their instruments. He lifts the the other two, which is what makes this band sound so dynamic & rich, as opposed to a shallower guitar-led 3 piece. So yeah, he's excellent, but the fact that Eugene & Vlad get their flowers so often is a testament to how good Roman is at his role in the band. 🤘

I bought some green grapes a couple days ago just because of this video. I there may a subliminal connection here. Tatiana has taken her screams and cleans to the next level. I think that there is no limit musically to what this band can be accomplish.

After the first two extracts, Jinjer started to release the heavy material. Kafka... and now this 'Green Serpent'. Impressive, just impressive in all ways.

Thanks for the reaction Tauri! This song is on another level especially for Tati's vocal which is so versatile. The whole band is so talented. I can't wait to discover Duél!

@rosana1961 The grapes are falling down The grapes are falling down The grapes are falling down Please add some sober water into heady wine Don't turn into a raging storm This peaceful night This peaceful night Ooh, ooh Here it comes, the green serpent It puts you on the path How deep is the mud In this tempting vineyard? The grapes are falling down And you pick them one by one The drunk stepped into the adult life Lukewarm wine is his blood It's not him who drinks from the bottle It's the bottle that drinks from him It's starting here You don't drink it, you absorb it Eventually you're swallowed by the mud Here it comes, the green serpent It puts you on the path, so unsure The serpent gives an umbrella on a sunny day And takes it back when it rains It holds so much annihilating power So it's turning saints into sinners in just one hour It's starting here You don't drink it, you absorb it Eventually you're swallowed by the mud Here it comes, the green serpent It puts you on the path so unsure A foe and a friend Locks you in pirouette Shame hurts more than headache Let the green serpent slither away Let the green serpent slither away Ooh-ooh, ooh The grapes are falling down The grapes are falling down

lol Green Serpent is metaphorically referred to alcohol in russian. Bitten by green serpent in slavic tradition is symbolic of alcoholism and the depths of intoxication/addiction.....as for the song, the opeth outro is cool. Middle LOG breakdown is cool. Also kinda sounds like an angular proggy album cut on first listen, but quickly turns out to be a banger.....also tati looks hot here 😂😂 Jinjer - Audiotree From Nothing (Live Performance)
