Actually yeah, I agree with comment by mrnu. Jinjer is one of the most unpredictable modern metal bands. It doesn't mean that their song cant have, for example, soft intros. That means that you hardly can predict what kind of intro, outro or the entire flow of the song would be the next. In many cases (especially in last 2-3 albums) the flow of their songs doesn't have standard structure (verse-chorus-verse-bridge-chorus etc). No repetitive parts of the song. But it's not a predictable rule as well. They do what they want with the song structure actually, no rules. That moment when you said something like "here comes the growl !" - and it doesn't come, is typical. It's hard to predict the flow even for an experienced listener, like me. And it's not only about the flow, musical features are also unpredictable. I know their repertoire perfectly and I still don't know all of their features. In their latest single Green Serpent (3rd in your list) they added at least two absolutely unexpected features and handled to surprise me again. For example, that part when singer's growl suddenly synchronizes with her clean voice and with the guitar and they all started "singing" the same melody at the same time, like a choir - very unusual. You was (un)lucky enough to pick a few songs with kinda similar intros. 3 of them was singles from the upcoming album (it seems this album has some main vibe). But if you'd pick another single from the same album (Rogue) you'd get a punch in your face right from the beginning and it'll punch you till the end without a break (no cleans at all, very intensive song). You listened to: - Pisces (clean verse + harsh chorus (twice), different clean part and harsh outro with some belting) - Someone's Daughter (no verses and choruses, few clean parts with different time signatures, divided by different instrumental transitions, including bass solo, final kinda breakdown with harsh vocal and a bit of cleans). - Green Serpent (soft clean intro, harsh verse (type 1), clean chorus, harsh verse (type 2), cool harsh+clean transition, clean chorus, harsh verse (type 2), soft outro with a bass solo and some cleans) - Kafka (no versus and choruses, long clean slowly evaluated part, getting more and more dramatical, and then shorter fast and intensive harsh part). As you can see, none of this songs are similar by it's structure, not even close to it. Despite of the soft intros in all of them. This band doesn't do what you'd wait for. Some people dislike Jinjer because of it, it makes them feel unsettled. People like to recognize the things, unrecognisable and unlabeled is unsettling. Jinjer's music hardly can be labeled. Simple and uncertain label which fits better is "progressive metal" (you can call progressive anything strange). But it becomes recognisable quite fast, the band has it's own distinctive sound, not just because of voice, each instrument is distinctive. All in all, if you'd used to it - you'll love it. Like said someone wise - that kind of progressive music needs some work to handle it. But if you give an effort to it - it gives you the reward, bigger than common "easy" music.

I think you are making a big mistake, you need time to form a full opinion about Jinjer. This band is one of the best bands I have heard in decades. I have been a musician for 40 years in different genres, rock, funk, psychedelic underground rap, acid jazz and non-metal... and I have been a music lover for even longer. I have been listening to this band for 8 years now and apart from the fact that they are all very humble and likeable people, are on a high technical level and have created their own Jinjer music, they can overwhelm you musically and get on your nerves, which is a good thing......! also you should watch their videos, then you might understand them a little easier.......... So my advice, take your time or stay away from Jinjer ;-) thanx for your reaction and warm greetings from germany
