Great video! I enjoy the judo in a street fight video as well. Highly anticipating more videos with these two arts, from knight jiu-jitsu!

And there are people that say training with a Gi is useless. Only people who have trained in a Gi knows how practical and effective it is. There are a lot more reasons to train in a Gi then people realize. I can go on for a long time about that. I been doing BJJ for 20 years. I really appreciate these videos. That is so awesome that Eli Knight stresses self defense with BJJ. So many schools I trained at focus on the sport aspect and not real life situations. The way he explains and breaks down the techniques is very intelligent and informative. Would be awesome to learn from him in person. I train in Yakima, Washington. Everything still closed because of Covid-19. I was training with Rickson Gracie's daughters here in Yakima. Royce is there Uncle. Got to train with Royler Gracie. They all teach the self defense aspect of Jiu-Jitsu

In a street fight the last place you want to be is on the ground period! You open many negative possibilities from by stander kicking/punching from all blind spots while dealing with your initial subject...... So get back on your feet ASAP for I've seen it only takes one drunk soccer kick in the 6 seconds on the ground to KO lights out!

Yeah, damn right all we need is judo techniques , kick their ball and run. Why people still love to lay on the floor i don't understand ha ha ha

Would like to see some videos of using this in a street fight. I think it would be most useful to gain position quickly for ground and pound. Obviously if someone doesn't kick you in the head.

I agree this work on one on one. Multiple? No.
@SaftonYT

If you have multiple people intent on beating your ass in the street, most combat sports/martial arts techniques probably won't work. A striker with excellent footwork *maybe*.

Well, it's one on one only martial art 2 guy? He's dead, I mean.. No footwork = dead

Nothing works on multiple people. As soon as it comes to martial arts, people think you can win a fight against 5 Bodybuilders

There is NO martial art on earth that effectively prepares you for violent encounters against multiple attackers, no matter what SOME people will try to tell you.
@impermanenthuman8427
@impermanenthuman8427 11 ай бұрын
@@keithminnich4017 you need to try to move so that the other attacker (2 or more) are positioned behind the attacker you are dealing with, and when the other attacker moves around to your right, then you need to move just as quickly to your left, so the other attacker constantly has his friend in his way. Of course they still have the advantage of forcing the direction you need to move it though. This is my concern with sport fighting systems that don’t teach the importance of trying to inflict immediate injury to each attacker. Look at boxing, 2 men get into a ring highly trained with wrapped hands and they hit each other high hard and often and quite regular they go every round in the match and at the end they are still both in quite good health…so more focus needs to be on inflicting maximum injury asap as in reality you will only have seconds before the attackers accomplice will be on you too, or if they have knives that they will pull out once they get hit with a few punches that didn’t put them down, so eyes throat and groin need to have more focus imo, a hard solid slam up into the groin can ‘knock out’ their legs so they can’t stand, it’s also a strike that’s done outside the reach of a knife that you didn’t see they had in their hand. Or a solid ram into the eye balls means now they can’t see you to attack you etc

I did Judo as a kid, but never any Jiu-Jitsu. At the age of 66, I will leave my self defence up to my son-in-law, who does Jiu-Jitsu or my 3 year old grandson, who thinks he is Iron Man! Surely everyone carries a gun in North America, just like they all carry knives in London (12 year olds and up)? Need some serious self-defence moves to combat those weapons.

Guys, everything what you have done in video is true except one thing.....the demo atacking guy who is all the time at floor always have either left or right hand fully open to hit the defender which can easely invalidate his defending and submiting tehnique.....so at the other words the defender has to be a really superfast to avoid numerous hiting and bruses in the head which determine beginner and pro in Judo or BJJ but this video is about to give the knowledge of essencial protection tehnique at street!?......Am I right??....so guys with all due respect, you have never seen the street and funcionality of same.........thanks for video....Best regards.

This bjj coach is doing a great disservice to the Street fighters brotherhood's and clueless kids who thinks this is how to street fight and take this tutorial as the gospel and only to get killed as soon as they enter their next street fight, even this coach has never street fight but sparred only within the comfort of his dojo,even the samurai's used their traditional jujutsu as a last case resort, and disapproved of bjj,u should learn ground fighting to escape from the ground and not to be as a Python on the street with ur bjj,his friends would use machete, clubs ,sticks and stones including headkicks and stomping to destroy ur life on the ground, some may even stab u

The problem with this is that a Bjj guy is not prepared to protect his nuts or his eyes and many times your face got near his mouth or your throat , if this is a street fight I'm sure the bad the moment he realizes that you know Bjj he's first thinking is on surving and you can bet that his gonna ripp your testicules out or bite your throat your given you a knee on the groin area and I saw that you did the video and overlooked this possible scenarios, I love Bjj but KZbin has many videos of ufc mma guys , Bjj guys having their ass kicked on the street ... the last one was a Bjj guy that got stabbed on the floor by a robber mother fucker , that use a knife on the guy .. I don't belive that Bjj as that power on the street against knifes , baseball bats, broken bottles and more ... It's great to know how to understand the ground fight but depending just on Bjj it's a stupidity. .. if we saw the TFC That has 5 against 5 mma guys fighting together we see that those who go with bjj get fucked most of the times. .. that's how America lost against the northern Europeans. .. See it ... kzbin.info/www/bejne/fZnbe6Oloqeciqc

Nothing protects you from a knife etc, just better training, jj would deffo work in a street fight, most end up on the ground ffs, stop making baseless comments, maybe try having a few street fights.

This is such nonsense. If I have someone mounted and their only recourse is to start biting me or trying to gouge my eyes or some shit, then all they've done is escalate the level of violence in a fight they were already losing. So now whereas I was happy to pin them down until they cool off or the cops show up, now I might be inclined to bounce their head off the fucking concrete a few times. This is such troll logic that gets repeated over and over. It also ignores the fact that the first several UFC events allowed the vast majority of those "dirty" techniques and yet the guys who initially dominated were the technical grapplers/ground-fighters. Besides, who do you think wins the eye-poking/nut-grabbing competition: the dude who has no idea how to grapple or the one with a keen understanding of position, body control, and balance?
@counterkidnapping1737

It works on one on one but doesn't work on multiple opponents so you have to observe the number of your opponent first. I wouldn't go to the ground if there are 3 dudes are going to attack me that's dumb. I'm just gonna punch one of them then run

@Im wearing tights that I borrowed from your mum. Yeah. Any quality BJJ school will give a lot of options in a street fight against someone who doesn't know what they're doing that don't involve laying down on your back and inviting them to join you. It's a strawman argument.
