Using a Prorock is going to workout nice to get the extra caster. A lot of people have been re-tubing them to get enough caster. I would deff recommend fitting the longest trackbar you can get in there. A lot of people weld some DOM to the passenger C and do a single shear trackbar. Check out Jeeps with JK Axles on Facebook for any specifics you might have

When you order brakes... I highly recommend the Crown Automotive Big Brake kit. You get twin piston calipers, 13" rotors and hardware for about the same price as those worthless power stop things. And the best part is that when you need to replace the pads, you go to your local auto parts store and get the pads for a Ram 1500. No need for fancy overpriced pads. My JKUR stops better now with the big brake kit and 35's and all my gear than it did stock and empty.
@JeepGearGadgets4 жыл бұрын
On a Jk the big brake kit is a great choice! But with the TJ, the master cylinder won’t be able to push enough fluid for dual piston calipers. The Jk brakes are already bigger than the TJ, and master cylinder upgrades for the TJ is slim pickings. We will either stay with OEM components or go with powerstop if the price is right. Plus they did have Ben and I out on the powerstop trail to sema this past year haha

If you need custom control arms wouldn't it be a option to straight go for long arms?
@JeepGearGadgets4 жыл бұрын
Yes! Now would technically be the best time for long arms. However, we are going to wait a little bit and do those down the road when we have more time. Doing long arms as well as these axles would be a very time consuming project. For now, the main goal is to get the axles under and operational while we both have a little more free time.

Hey! Love the out of the ordinary build. But You guys may be able to help. I am building a one ton swapped XJ. The body is pretty beat and my end game goal is to acquire a JKU shell/roller and put my axles and LS swap in there. Do you think the lower control arm mounting width can be put at a happy medium to swap into both chassis? It’s going to get coil overs so the spring buckets aren’t an issue

The prorock has the same brackets locations and dimensions as the stock Mopar axles right? If someone had bone stock JK Dana 44s everything you do would apply to their axle too correct?
@JeepGearGadgets4 жыл бұрын
Yes, technically. However, a Jk factory axle needs some improvements. On our dynatrac it is already beefed up. Thicker tubes, thicker brackets etc. if your using a Jk axle (stock), you’ll want a truss and c gussets to make it stronger, and at that point you might as well get the Barnes swap kit. However, there are pros and cons to both. Hopefully by the end of these videos you’ll be able to see how you want to do it
@jakobmcgraw53634 жыл бұрын
By move the coil mounts on the axle two inches forward you would have solved lower your control arm, drag link location issues without having to fab to the frame!

@81jetmjr4 жыл бұрын
Aww dam I gotta say Ben I'm disappointed. You've done such good work on the jk and jt I expected more from this video. Do it right the first time get the Barnes swap truss kit or artec Industries also makes a sweet swap truss kit for jk to tj. love the videos, the content and what y'all do!!
@JKGearandGadgets4 жыл бұрын
Jorge Morales so, contrary to what it might seem like. This is actually going to be a better setup.. the swap kits are great, and make it easy. But this will be a superior setup without the swap kits. The wider spring pads will make the jeep more stable. Keeping the Jk trackbar mount on the axle makes the trackbar longer than where the swap kits place it. The longer the TB the better. This axle already has thicker and wider axle tubes, a truss would add unneeded weight. A truss isn’t needed to make this axle bulletproof, under a TJ it already is. By keeping the jk style coil buckets, we are getting a 2” stretch. Which means we can run 37s on a very low lift with no rubbing concerns. A stretch also means we can run 2” longer control arms, which is a lot better than a standard TJ adjustable short arm. As you can tell. It might sound weird, but this is the way to do it right the first time. It’s just a lot more work. You’ll see 😉
@toddpalmer35074 жыл бұрын
The brake lines are not the same. They are close but the LJ brakes are 3/8-24 and the jk brakes are m10x1.0 you should get new lines with the right fittings before you loose em on the trail.

Playing with a heavy housing mod, bullet proof the ring gear and carrier to keep chunk size to a min. Just an idea. Have not done it or tried since I looked at it last. Also may be able to buy new oem mounts , just change the radius on then to the new tube size. That allows you to change the width from axle link mounts outward. possibly cut and spline the oem ford axle shafts.I'll keep watching, see how your rigs change while on "virusation" bad vacation.. caution.
